Things to do when you're tiny and feeling...

Angry

✎Don't bottle it up! If you need to, go somewhere you can be alone to let out your feelings

✫Scream into a pillow or stuffie

✫Hit something soft (I promise your stuffies will forgive you too)

✫Let yourself cry

✫Draw with crayons (you can push down hard with them) it doesn't have to be pretty

✫Drink something cold like water or juice

✫Eat something hard/crunchy like cookies or carrots or chew on a teether

✫If you can, write down what made you angry and destroy the paper afterwards

Sad

✫Soothe yourself with a binkie

✫Hug as many stuffies as you need really close to your chest

✫Let yourself cry, if you can

✫Listen to lullabies

✫Eat something that makes you happy/comforts you (sweet or spicy is best)

✫Drink something warm like angel milk, hot cocoa or tea

✫Swaddle yourself in soft blankets

✫Watch your favorite show

Lonely

✫Gather your stuffies and dolls around you

✫Talk to them even if they don't answer back. You can feel what they want to tell you in your chest

✫Cuddle them really close

✫Write to someone you miss, if you can

✫Draw yourself with those you love/want to be with

✫Imagine those you miss being with you and daydream about what you could do together

✫Watch your favorite show or youtuber to feel less alone

Anxious

✫Your binkie may help soothe you

✫Take deep breaths

✫Feel the textures around you to ground yourself

✫Rock back and forth to relief tension and soothe yourself

✫Hold your stuffies close

✫Put on music and just move around however you feel like!

✫If you have a reason, think about all the ways it could NOT go wrong too! Let yourself hope for the best, even if you're scared to get hurt /gentle

✫Try to put names to what you can physically feel. If you feel something you cannot see, then it can't hurt you. Focus instead on feeling the things you CAN see like a soft blanket or hoodie

Sadness is a big, difficult emotion, but it’s okay to be sad. It isn’t bad, even if it isn’t fun. Sometimes, we just let ourselves cry it out. Crying isn’t fun, but can help get the emotions out. We usually feel better after crying it out. If you cry, remember to wash your face with nice cool water and drink something cool and refreshing after!

If we don’t cry, we try to put on a comfort show that makes us happy, or look up YouTube videos of cute and funny animals. We may pull out a coloring book to work on while we watch the videos. If you have a pet, playing with them can help a lot!

Taking a nice shower or bubble bath can help too (we usually set up a safe way to watch YouTube or something while in the bath, to keep the brain distracted).

You can also try getting up, rinsing your face with cool water and putting on some clothes you like that you feel comfy and confident in. Sometimes just washing your face, changing your clothes and doing something (be it cleaning, cooking, coloring, drawing, etc) can kind of reset your mental state.

I just feel the need to deinfluence agere so bad like wear whatever you want or can! Do whatever is fun! Let go of the need of imagining tiny little people watching you while you're goddamn coping! To be a pink and feminine and well behaved and "perfect" regressor, like the ones on tiktok and Instagram, isn't your only choice and honestly? I don't believe that half of them are actually like their online personas when they're regressing because:

Kids are messy. Kids throw tantrums, kids swear, are obsessed with "weird" things that are not catered to them, wear whatever is comfortable if it's up to them and care about getting to the playground as fast as possible rather than as beautifully as they can. It's fine if you're not like this, but we (the ones that are) need to be reminded that it's not our perfectly done makeup and cute quiet babbles that make us worth of fun and healing and love: it's the fact that we're people, we're just kids.

Tl;dr: it's fine if you don't look like age regressors online: bio kids also don't, and that doesn't make them any less deserving of peace, safety and love.

New blind box drop at my local WalMart. There's a Bedtime Bear in this series so I guess I'll be at this for a while.

How To Make Littles Feel Small

•Generally baby them

•Lots of petnames (baby, little one, prince/ss, etc)

•Don't let them do things for themselves (cook for them, tie their shoes, get them their drinks, etc.)

•Do things like hold their hand while you're walking, help them down and up stairs, carry them if you can, etc.

•Tell them how teeny they are. (ex. "You're such a cute little baby", "aw, is someone feeling small", "my little one", etc)

•Encourage their little space. It goes a long way

•Get them their little things. A stuffie, paci, bottle, etc. Anything that helps them feel small.

•Pick out their outfits for them or help them pick out their outfits

•Give them rules or enforce your rules

Being a little one and not having a caregiver can be really hard and can get you feeling all blue and feeling all lonely but there is ways you can help yourself and I hope these can help you little one!

  • make yourself a schedule of things you need to do, for example, nap time, meals and play time they can help you keep on track and tick them off with stickers or fun colours!
  • A chore chart can also be fun, stuff like, do laundry, clean, do the dishes, it can help yiu remember to do stuff and reward yourself at the end of the week if you get everything done!
  • Bedtime stories, YouTube and Spotify can be really good! I usually listen to Disney princess or bluey stories on Spotify and they are really good!
  • Have a fuzzy friend that you can cuddle, like a stuffie! Cuddle with it whenever you want! Snuggle up on the couch and watch fun comfort shows :)
  • Reach out to the community! Make a friend, there are plenty of littles and caregivers who would luv to be your friend! P.S. I made a friend today and he is so amazing and kind! Dey make me so happy and smileyyy 🤭

one fun thing about being a teacher in march 2023 is that chess is a literal epidemic among teens. we are starting to have meetings about how we can STOP teenagers from playing too much chess which is like if we were trying to figure out how to stop them from reading for fun. When i was in high school five years ago chess was nerd shit only but now it is transcending every social and language barrier and is absolutely rampant. kids aren’t on their phone texting in class anymore it’s ONLY chess.com. kids are playing chess on their phones while playing chess in real life. this is still better than tiktok because at least the kids are developing an attention span from this

the worst part of this is that they’re on chess dot com instead of getting an education. but the BEST part of this is watching high schoolers develop the weirdest goddamn strategies I’ve ever seen. One of my students invented something he calls the “evil advisor gambit” where he gets a third person to give out constant terrible advice to both teams hoping that his opponent falls for it straight-up or that his opponent thinks HE fell for it and will act accordingly thus worsening their own strategy. he has won every game he has been able to pull off a coordinated evil advisor gambit in. this is chess innovation never before seen in its 700 years on earth
