Louisville Doll Theft Update
So I posted a couple weeks back about my friend whose landlord stole his doll collection, and I have good news and bad news.
The good news is we were able to track down one of the trucks. The bad news is that it belonged to a charity donation pickup that just ended up with their clothes and furniture after everything else had been taken by the "cleaners."
After calling all the cleaners and junk haulers in the area, we've narrowed it down to two, the first admitted to working with Barrett Goff/Allodium in the past but acted a little squirrely when I mentioned stolen property and said they hadn't been on that side of town that week, but the guy was otherwise sweet and cooperative, and said company policy is to donate anything not broken. The second admitted they let their employees just grab and take whatever, then got an attitude and said they "couldn't confirm or deny involvement," and told us to come back with a warrant. They're the only ones out of the internet's entire trove of KY Louisville area junk haulers that refused to give answers, which is pretty sus.
(Who, in the course of a normal conversation, says stuff like "can neither confirm nor deny involvement"? Not sure if these guys are guilty or just extra...)
Anyway, with nothing turning up on online resale platforms, the next stop is flea markets. As they're working extra gigs to save for a new place (and a lawyer), I'm hoping to save them a PI fee by organizing a sweep with people in the area, to run through local flea markets and see if anyone's trying to sell a massive doll collection. They already can't afford HRT anymore, if they have to pay a pi and a lawyer, getting justice will get prohibitively expensive both financially and personally
If you are local to the Louisville KY area, even if you're not in the hobby, please dm me and I'll go over the ones we haven't eliminated by phone yet. They've been advised to get a private investigator, but they really don't have that kind of money lying around after being robbed and left homeless. If I can get enough Baker Street Irregulars together to help, we can let them use their savings for a lawyer.
Again, the collection is made up of mostly Ringdoll, DIM, ResinSoul/Bobobie, and some Soom. Also among the more distinctive dolls we're trying to recover are Custom House Saint Mina and LE Sad Mina, an Island Doll Shukaku ver. 2 fullset, and a secondhand Volks free choice girl with goth vampire faceup and antique-looking dress.
If anyone knows attorneys who take cases for cheap or pro bono, please contact me so I can refer them. They've applied to the ACLU, but with the organization's workload these days, it's kind of a crapshoot.

We have been hoping that Goff's commitment to being as cartoonishly evil as possible would bite him squarely in the ass, and at long last, it has. In the course of sending several threatening/taunting texts and emails to my friends, he was unable to resist continuing with his "Before I kill you, Mr. Bond..." act, and in detailing what he thought was an Intimidating Inescapable Evil Plan to make them pay him, he admitted to a number of his offenses in writing, and suggested that their valuables are not gone and he knows where they are. With this admission, legal aid is no longer giving my friends the run-around, and they're finally seeing movement on the case from authorities outside the sheriff's office and metro PD. (There's some more to the federal case than I feel comfortable divulging randomly on tumblr, but that's where we are generally.)
That's the criminal side of things. Criminal cases, however, can take years to resolve. To compel Goff to return what he and his "cleaners" stole in a more timely manner, they'll need to file a civil suit. The court fee for that is $300, which is more than they have right now, given their other costs in the wake of all this.
They're asking for donations through PayPal @memeharrington still until they can set a GFM up, but I'll provide that too once that's done. A fundraising sale post with some things I've made and a cross-listing of dolls and parts I have on the Den of Angels Marketplace will be up as soon as I can get photos taken, my life's a little chaotic rn because of an ongoing remodel.
We're close, y'all. We're not there yet by any stretch, but justice is finally starting to look possible. Please stay tuned, keep sharing, and spare a couple bucks if you can, every little bit helps.

Because some folks seem not to be aware of this feature... There IS a tumblr algorithm. It's easier to train to show you what you really want to see than most other sites.
It uses the things you LIKE and the things the people you follow LIKE to show you new things. It's in your settings.
But it only works if you like things you want to see more of, and your mutuals do the same.
I think you missed the point of this post. Reblogs are how this site works. You’re supposed to reblog posts (especially art and fic and things people spent hours on) to share it and so others can reblog from you. Likes do not get posts seen and shared.
People on this site specifically turn off those settings because that’s not how tumblr is designed and the appeal of being here is that there is no algorithm. It’s sharing. Posts are meant to be shared. People are the “algorithm.” Without sharing/reblogging, posts die and don’t get seen. Writers and artists lose motivation because no one is sharing and interacting. So please, reblog posts. Writers and artists are literally begging for just that bare minimum at this point.

To quote a famous movie “What she lacks in age, she makes up for in Madness.” Or in this case lovesickness. Up next is the teenager who got basically used as Scott’s rebound, Knives Chau!
With her attacks I think is best to bring up two things: her scarf (🧣) and sai (🗡) attacks. These abilities function with two goals in mind; the sai (🗡) abilities dish out the hurt, while scarf (🧣) abilities help you control the space around you. The cards that Knives can equip support this idea:
If one got luck with their dice rolls, one could use “Scarf Spin” to drag their rival in close, then following up with “Sai Throw” to push them back 2 spaces, dealing a combined 5 damage. These abilities could also be used to move an adversary into place for an ally to unleash a devastating attack! Another thing I noticed, if Knives uses a speed die (🛼) to move, she gets to move 4 spaces instead of 2 spaces. And last but not least is her combo attack, “I’ve Kissed the Lips that Kissed You” which she sets up next to an opponent and rerolls her teams dice and for every guts die (☠️) rolled, she deals out 2 damage!
And I’m conclusion that is Knives Chau, a girl who deserved so much more than her first relationship to be another person’s rebound (Also the age difference is kinda icky, I feel like if I don’t mention it here somebody will bring it up.) is a character who can zip around the stage control her rivals movement options! Up next in these overviews will be a trilogy of Ramona Flowers…es? (How do you make plural a word that is already plural?)
Every band needs a leader, someone who can lead the band to success, somebody who can make the tough calls, someone who needs a burrito, Damnit! Up next in this Scott Pilgrim Miniatures the World overview (I guess this what I’m calling this now.) Stephen Stills!
Compared to the other members of Sex Bob-Omb, most of Stills attacks are music attacks (🎵) or related to this type of skill. while his “Guitar Smash” and “Mic Swing” abilities help him dish out the damage to start the game, he gets more interesting as he levels up. “Band Leader” doubles his team’s damage on non-combo attacks, while his “Rift Drift” lets him get in close and do a bit of push back damage. And of course, “I Want A Super Burrito” gives Stills his long desired burrito, which promptly gets thrown in the opponent’s face. His Combo is “Encore” which lets him use one of his teammate’s Advanced Abilities for triple it’s original damage!
For cards that Stills can use to gain a power up, “Stephen’s Guitar” gives him +1 damage to all of his music attacks. (🎵) And Microphone also gives Stephen Stills a ranged attack to strike a foe within sight. Overall that’s Stephen Stills!
(Also did you guys hear about those Scott Pilgrim action figures, they look so cool!)
Now we are onto (in my humble opinion) the best girl; Kim Pine! Kim’s basic attacks include a way to attack from a range and a way to dish out close up damage. As Kim levels up, she gains more ways to dish out damage to bad guys. Where she gets to particularly shine is her super attacks. Kim’s first super is “We Are Sex Bob-Omb, One, Two, Three, Four!” Where she and her allies all use one of their musical abilities (signified by a “🎵”) her other super, “Cellphone of Power” let’s her rally all of the other good guys around her for a more concentrated attack.
n the item deck, Miss. Pine has “Kim’s Drumsticks” which give her musical abilities a chance to deal more damage. (Also forgot to mention it last time, but Scott Pilgrim has a similar card in the base set called “Scott’s Bass,” does the same thing.)
Anyways, as mentioned earlier, Kim Pine Best Girl. (In my humble opinion)
Now to start my repost quest, let’s begin with the titular character himself, Scott Pilgrim! As a part of the base set, I can best describe Scott Pilgrim as a basic character. (Mind you this is not a bad thing necessarily) He does everything you’d imagine this 23 year old slacker would do, he punches, kicks, and uses his bass guitar as a makeshift weapon. However he does share a trait that not many characters share; he has two super moves. One is a nasty head butt that sends his foe flying and dishes out a nasty bit of damage. The other is a counter attack that turns his opponent’s own attack on them. Overall, Scott Pilgrim is sort of the character who can hit hard and can be a good teaching tool for how to play the game. But he gets more interesting in the expansion box.
The “Power of Love Sword” Card, and the “Power of Understanding Sword” not only represent our main character slowly but surely becoming a better person, but also give Scott more damage options for his attacks. He also gains a devastating partner in Ramona Flowers (“Won’t Back Down” Ver.), but she’s a discussion for a different post…
After years of lurking around on this wonderful little hellsite, I decided to post something. And it was pictures of the miniatures from “Scott Pilgrim Miniatures The World.” Since I can’t find really good pictures of what the minis look like outside the Kickstarter, I decided to take pictures of my own minis to give people a sense of what these figures are like. But I still had my privacy settings on and nobody saw the original posts, so I’m going to try again and see if people see them this time.
