Transphobes block me
Why did catfish get so weird though. There’s an electric catfish. There’s catfish that can come out of the water and go for a walk. There’s catfish that only swim upside-down. Catfish that eat wood. Catfish that raise all their babies in the dad’s mouth. The candiru is a catfish and it evolved to lodge in the gills of other catfish and suck their blood like a tick.
you say youre queer but youve blocked multiple queer blogs. whats the truth?
I hate to break it to you but queer people are still capable of being annoying
sometimes I randomly remember that Mr Ratburn from Arthur is gay married to a chocolatier and a sense of calmness and prosperity washes over me like a wave

blowing a kiss to all the disabled people who cant work and a kiss to all the disabled people who shouldnt be working but have to because of their circumstances and a kiss to disabled people who have never and will never work and a kiss to the disabled people who dont want to work your worth is not measured by your productivity ily
Trying to remind myself that im allowed to take painkillers even if the pain is "my fault".
A migraine is a result of, not a punishment for forgetting to eat - take the painkillers.
Back pain is a result of, not a punishment for poor posture - take the painkillers.
Sore joints are a result of, not a punishment for overexertion - take the painkillers.
Pain is not a punishment for a mistake. Painkillers are there to ease suffering. There is no glory in misery. There is no virtue in agony.
rain is so nice
It just be nice spishy splashy and pitter patter
It make ground all squishy and make worms wiggle and plants grow fast and help dirt be dirt, and make smell good and wash the shinys and make goblin brain go brrrrrrrr
"We need to highlight the role women play in perpetrating and sustaining patriarchal culture so that we will recognize patriarchy as a system women and men support equally, even if men receive more rewards from that system. Dismantling and changing patriarchal culture is work men and women must do together. "
- bell hooks, "The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love"
don't know who needs to hear this but sometimes trans women on the internet will be kinky. and sometimes you just need to deal with that and ignore the reaction society instilled in you to condemn anything other than vanilla sex as deviant and wrong
If I may add onto this, as a trans woman:
Conversely, if you are a trans woman reading this and you’re into some weird things, you don’t need to feel guilty about it, even though it might be hard not to. If you’re not hurting anyone, and everything is safe and consensual, you’re allowed to be the weirdest person you can imagine, and it doesn’t make you less worthy of rights or respect, or any less of a woman.
“So, when these gentlemen say, ‘You are utopians, you anarchists are dreamers, your utopia would never work,’ we must reply, ‘Yes, it’s true, anarchism is a tension, not a realization, not a concrete attempt to bring about anarchy tomorrow morning.’ But we must also be able to say but you, distinguished democratic gentlemen in government that regulate our lives, that govern us through the opinions that you form daily in your newspapers, in the universities, schools, etc., what have you gentlemen accomplished? A world worth living in? Or a world of death, a world in which life is a flat affair, devoid of any quality, without any meaning to it? A world where one reaches a certain age, is about to get one’s pension, and asks oneself, ‘But what have I done with my life? What has been the sense of living all these years?’”
— The Anarchist Tension, Alfredo M. Bonanno
Why is "love" as a magical force always good-aligned? Villains can't love too? I wanna see two villains who adore each other so hard that the wicked power of love straight up fries the hero's head off
another question that gets me is… would u be friends with your parents if they were your not your parents/ were the age you are now?? hard to tell bc who knows what they were really like at 20 something but….. we wonder. and we wonder and wonder.
Below the poll is a series of animal images labeled A through J. A is the least close to the birds we have today; J is the closest. If you encountered these animals in the wild, which would you call birds? If you pick a higher up option, then that means you consider all the below ones birds as well - so if you pick A, then BCDEFGHIJ are all birds. If you pick J, only J is a bird.

PLEASE REBLOG THIS SO IT CAN LEAVE PALAEOBLR. I NEED PEOPLE WHO DON'T RECOGNIZE THESE ANIMALS ON SIGHT TO VOTE.
I apologize to all of y'all with vision impairments for whom this poll is inaccessible. Alas, this is an experiment, and I cannot name the taxa. Thank you.

Also one more disability vs. art post - I get the...distinct impression that a lot of people do not know how much nerve entrapment such as carpal tunnel syndrome can fuck you up.
Sure, every artist knows what carpal tunnel syndrome IS, of course, and all these lovely infographics about exercises to help prevent it or slow its progression pop up on my dash from time to time and it's great to see, but...the way people talk about it aside from that often makes it sound like it begins and ends at, oh, your hand will get tingly and your wrist will get sore and it'll suck :((((
And that is absolutely not the case.
Carpal tunnel syndrome can cause SEVERE pain that lasts long after you stop doing the activity that caused it, permanent nerve damage, and even partial to total paralysis of some parts of the hand. Cubital tunnel syndrome, caused by a similar nerve entrapment in the elbow, can cause the same thing but even further up, potentially leading to total paralysis of the entire hand. Severe cases often require surgery - and orthopedic surgery has a high rate of complications that cause new or worsened chronic pain.
Oh, and if you have EDS or another hypermobility spectrum disorder? You're more likely to get it, AND have it be more severe than our less bendy counterparts, AND some of the exercises recommended for most people to prevent, slow, or relieve it may only make it worse because they're conceived with a normal range of motion in mind.
So what is the point of me saying this?
1: If you work intensely with your hands, PROTECT YOUR WRISTS AND EVEN YOUR ELBOWS, THE CONSEQUENCES ARE WORSE THAN YOU PROBABLY THINK
2: Believe people when they say carpal tunnel syndrome prevents them from doing things. Yes, it CAN be that bad.

they should make those tourism websites for cities but instead its for things to do when you live there your entire life. What do i do lol
Found another idiotic accounting mistake from my predecessor that I have to fix and I was like "WILL THE SPECTER OF THAT MAN'S INCOMPETENCE EVER CEASE TO HAUNT ME" and my coworker was like "Why do you talk like that"
I had this work friend at my previous job who was gay. Lovely kid, from a kind of traditional family.
He hadn't told anyone he was gay, because he was scared of being judged. But... thanks to the resident lesbian, he was outed to everyone without his knowledge because she clocked him and asked everyone about it while he was off work.
Everyone then put the clues they'd noticed on their own together rather than what they were doing beforehand, that being remaining blissfully and politely unaware of how his variety of behaviours linked back to him being gay.
Had I already clocked him? Absolutely. But I should not have been told about him, before he chose to come out to me.
This pride month, remember that even in the most accepting of environments, even if you personally feel comfortable being out where you are, that doesnt mean someone else around you is too. Do not assume that someone is comfortable with everyone knowing, or that everyone knows.
Because we might not have known. That person might not have told us yet. We might have been politely ignoring the signs because we didn't want to assume.
It's not your place to tell everyone someone else's business.
Hate hate hate how when I get angry there is a physical reaction but it's not glowing eyes or growing claws or something it's crying. This feels unfair.
