someone who’s pretty: ugh i’m ugly :(
me: i’m not going to judge or mock u for saying this bc despite how u look or how others perceive u i get that you can have self-confidence issues and be self-conscious literally no matter what u look like! so ur not alone and i hope u feel better abt urself in the future
Societies anxiety
In the society that we live in today we are taught to not speak up, but rather keep it to ourselves. Don’t try to be different otherwise you will be seen to be ‘a freak’. Stay up to date with fashion and don’t bring back the old. If you are ugly, then wear makeup. If you wear makeup then you are trying too hard. If you’re fat, then go on a diet. If you’re skinny, then put some meat on those bones. Too little friends? Then you’re a loser. Too much friends? Then you’re an attention seeker. Showing too little skin? Then you’re a goody goody. Showing too much skin? Then you’re a whore.
The truth is that we are judged by everything and anything, from what clothes we wear to what type of music we listen to. This society labels every one of us and tells us who and what to be, you must have a perfect body, you must be cute, skinny, have clear skin and you must be popular. Well I say no to societies rules, you don’t be to fall under a category to be accepted or denied in this world. In fact most of the prettiest and confident people I’ve ever meet don’t have 'the perfect body’, don’t have clear skin, but have a heart of gold and that’s the most important and beautiful thing someone can have. Be kind to yourself, you only get one chance at life and you only have one body, treat your body like a temple, love and care for it. Your body is your friend, don’t mistreat and mishandle it. Don’t let society tell you who to be, don’t be a slave to the system. You could have scars, freckles, stretch marks, wrinkles, tattoos, bruises and still be beautiful and comfortable in your own skin, because that’s what makes you beautiful and unique, I mean look at you, you are a masterpiece.
Be a free spirit, be someone whose unique, someone who lives according to his/her own beliefs and wishes. Someone whose free from society, someone who tells them-self and others that they are still beautiful and unique no matter what happens. You are not defined by your bra size, hip size, thighs, stomach, hair nor your eye colour. But how you treat and respect those around you is what truly makes you who you are.
You are unique, you are beautiful, you are a masterpiece and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
