⚠️Chalice of the Gods spoilers⚠️
Oh why are they just the cutest
“Alecto offered to help our quest if i gave you up to her”
“What did you say?”
“I killed her sister”
“Medusa offered to help me save my mom if i turned on the two of you”
“And what’d you say?”
“I cut off her head”
Ya no other ship is beating Percabeth. Pack it up. They're taking it home
“Careful. I think you were about to call me a friend.”
Oh we knew that line hit her deep. You could tell she’s been thinking about that comment since the second he made it. That’s gonna haunt him the rest of their relationship.🤭
one clear memory
heroes of olympus: the son of neptune
I can't believe Leah improvised the scene where annabeth adjusts percy's armor.....
#This is so funny 😂
The scene:
Zeus: this is COMPLETELY IMPERTINENT!!!! If that boy and his friends weren’t recovering my bolt, I would have already fried them!!
Poseidon and Hermes:
#They're perfect, they're literally Percy and Annabeth
The way Percy “loyalty is my fatal flaw” Jackson didn’t even FINISH hearing out Medusa. He heard “betray-” and fucking bolted like omfg THIS is my Percy no one’s doing it like him
while we're on the topic of talking about changes the pjo show made that i love, im glad they didn't push the whole Annabeth saying she and Percy *have* to be enemies because athena and Poseidon have beef. Instead she's just this cryptid autistic strategist 12 yr old who stalks Percy and pushes him into the water. She's like "hmm this white boy will perfectly serve my purpose and schemes" and she's so real for that
Percy age 12: And if the mission required someone to push me down a flight of stairs for it to succeed… you’d want someone who won’t hesitate when they do it
Percy age 17:
The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him
RIP Annabeth, I just know Percy sacrificing himself for you, after knowing you for a week, after telling you that you’ve done more for him this week than his father ever has, is permanently altering the brain chemistry of your avoidant attachment self
11 year old me walked so i could run (to my computer to draw these)
changes in the show so far i really really like:
- "not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero and not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster"
- grover training percy using mythomagic cards
- percy burning blue candy and praying to sally instead of the gods
- "i am SALLY JACKSON'S son!"
- the consensus song :)
- updating the way medusa's story is presented to acknowledge that's she's a victim while still being a threat ("we are not our parents, until we choose to be" banger line!)
- echidna actively seeking the trio out
- percy sacrificing himself at the arch. gave that entire scene a lot more narrative weight and percy absolutely would do that!!
- the water reaching out and grabbing percy. this was more to correct rick's little geography error but it's great that it works so well both ways, giving poseidon a more active role in saving percy
When I tell you I make the most inhuman disgusting noises every time I see Damian go soft for Anya
Duty vs Love
yeah the "right person wrong time" trope hurts so bad, but what about the "duty vs love" trope?
Wherein you have to painfully choose between saving/staying with the love of your life or you have to choose the world over them....
"I'd rather lose you to save thousands of lives, but deep inside, at the bottom of my soul ... I wish I could choose you, and not the world.." -Anonymous
Alternate reality where Armin finds Eren and Mikasa in the woods
