oh hey lmao since we're at the starting stages of a trans genocide in the US, I wanna remind everyone that they will try to erase this. They will try to rewrite history so that this never happened, or everyone was on our side in the beginning, or whatever makes them look better. They're already trying to re-write history and erase us from the start, with bills that make it illegal to teach queerness in classrooms. We cannot let this happen. We cannot let them erase our history.
We're lucky we live in the age of the Internet where nothing is truly erased. We gotta use this to our advantage.

I don’t think you can fully understand transmisogyny without understanding how it’s weaponized against cis Black women.
When you find a transmisogynist you’ve found a racist who will use their ideals of the “normative female body” to demean and denigrate Black women. For years it was a popular right wing rumor/conspiracy/dick move to refer to Michelle Obama as a “tranny” and more recently sports organizations have repeatedly excluded cis Black women for not having “normative” hormone levels. Transmisogyny and antiblackness go hand in hand.

We're getting closer to Pride month and my nerves are already fried.
I am legitimately afraid. If we get through the next month without a major tragedy happening it will be a miracle. The pressure is so high right now and the news is worse for us every day.
I am also furious. Because this was done to our community on purpose. Intentionally and deliberately.
And it's unlikely that those responsible for bringing us to this point will ever be held accountable.
What I wish I could say to everyone in our community is that I hope you stay safe next month. Be as loud and as visible as you feel you need to be, but also don't give in to any outside pressures to put yourself at unnecessary risk. If it comes down to it, do whatever it takes to protect yourself.
