cant help but feel like them marketing this collection as "the apollo trilogy" is a really bad idea bc people are going to play aa4 first and expect that like. any of its plot threads get continued in subsequent games 😭 guy who finishes aa4 and goes oh boy i cant wait to play dual destinies and find out what happens with kristoph's black psyche-locks and see the apollo+trucy sibling reveal

Spoilers for all ace attorney games! I spent almost 3 years working on this on and off, and I'm so proud of myself to have stuck with it until the end. The way I chose the lawyers was that they had to be involved in more than one case. Please enjoy!

Wanted to try and redesign older Pearls as well! I feel she’d have a little bit more freedom in what she wears since Maya is the master. This was pretty tough since I wanted to show she was no longer a small girl but still keep her demure (and sometimes feisty!) personality :O

Highkey her forging the ace makes more sense character and theme wise than Phoenix doing it.

Obviously Phoenix is disillusioned with the court system, but I don’t think he’d be willing to put Trucy at risk by having her deliver the forged ace. Especially when that’s exactly what Kristoph had her do as a child. But we know without a doubt that Trucy is willing to do illegal things for those she cares about, just look at 4-2 where she fakes her own kidnapping.

And then thematically there are a lot of cases in AA4 of family manipulating or using a younger family member, especially with forgeries. Kristoph manipulated Klavier, Kristoph gave Trucy the forged page, Zak had Trucy help him escape, and Misham had his daughter making forgeries. But I think that theme becomes stronger if you have one person who breaks it, with Phoenix not asking Trucy to deliver forged evidence but Trucy instead doing it because she can’t lose her dad again.

It also would make a nice inversion for Trucy. Instead of being the kid unknowingly delivering forged evidence, she’s now a teenager knowingly doing the same thing in the hopes it’ll save her dad and get Kristoph arrested.

Finally, Phoenix says the ace was a “naughty magician’s trick” in the game, which I think really supports it being Trucy who forged it.
