They/them. 22. Still hyperfixating on Dream SMP 2 years later.

(publicly shared video of a sweetheart’s dance from Rodney Stanger on fb)

This is really the cleanest Sweethearts Dance I’ve ever seen in my life. I am in love! I am transfixed! Footwork smooth and strong like a mfin mountain river! Incredible! 🤩 😳 🥰

Oh my God this is incredible to watch!

Found the credit, from the Great Plains Dance Company. This is Jocy Bird and Trae Little Sky dancing in the Sweetheart Special at the Seminole Tribal Fair in Hollywood, Florida.

Jocy Bird and Trae Little Sky are married and apparently an adorable couple and I am loving their beaming grins as they dance so smoothly together. 💖

have reblogged before, will reblog again

bruh if people want me to stop sympathizing with villains they need to stop making the villains the ones who want to change broken systems

You know, there is something extremely interesting about the idea in Western media that the villain is almost always the one who catalyzes the events of a story. They’re usually the ones trying to bring about some change.

The only exception I can think of might be dystopian fiction. That seems to be the only situation where it’s “acceptable” for the heroes to be proactive and the villains to be the ones maintaining the status quo.

Hello! I'm going to teach you how to get whatever cursor you want.

First, figure out what you want as a cursor. I'm going to be changing mine to a Skyrim mouse.

So first you get a picture of whatever you want, as clean as possible:

Open your favorite art program and clean it up, then save as a png:

Then go here and convert it to a .cur file. Make sure there's no gap between the corner of the arrow and the corner of the png.

Next you go to Control Panel:

Select Mouse from the list:

Then go to the Pointers tab and pick whichever mouse cursor you want to replace.

Click "Browse..." and find the .cur file you made earlier:

And voila! I now have a Skyrim cursor.

You may have to tinker with the size a bit to get the point to be accurate. If that happens, just resize your png and convert to .cur again.

Happy customization!

If you have bodily autonomy, then there is always a chance that you will do something to your body that you will regret. This is not an argument for taking that autonomy away.

There is a much, much higher chance that someone who is not you will do something to your body that you regret.

Too many of you conceptualize trans men as having access to all the advantages of cis womanhood and cis manhood combined, when the reality is that most of us just see the disadvantages of failed manhood and failed womanhood combined

All trans people are Schroedinger's Gender. You are simultaneously both and also neither male and female, man and woman, depending on what they feel would hurt you most at the time. This can change day to day, hour to hour, even minute to minute.

Examples:

Trans woman who is told she can't change her gender marker on her ID, takes off her shirt in a parking lot to change and is arrested for public indecency for her female-presenting nipple exposure, and is currently housed in a men's prison. What gender is she? The gender that hurts her the most at the time. Both and yet neither. Because fuck you that's why.

Trans man who requests to compete in boys' wrestling, forced to compete with the girls instead. Punished for "flashing" his bottom growth while taking a shower in the locker room. School's parents want him kicked out of sports because he keeps winning by a *lot* when he wrestles the girls, saying it's not fair to make the girls compete in strength with his testosterone. During yet another meeting where he requests to wrestle the boys, he's yet again denied *despite this* because he's a girl. Eventually beaten up by the boys at school mad that he's thrashing their girlfriends. Boys justify it by saying it's okay to hit him because he's not "really" a girl. What gender is he? Whatever gender he can be punished with at the time. Both and yet neither. Because fuck you that's why.

I didn't pull these out of my head. They're real people, real transgender stories I've been told either through news or firsthand accounts.

Okay, vaguely related, but a friend of mine was once taking some snowy owls to canada to be released--they’d been injured while in the states, taken to the avian rehab facility where he worked, and were healthy again. But at that time of year, most  snowy owls had migrated back north to canada. So he drove to the border with three crates of screamingly angry snowy owls in back. He got to the border, declared his cargo, and immediately found himself in Big Trouble With Canadian Border Security.

(There was nothing wrong with what he’d been doing, it had all been cleared in advance and he had all his paperwork in order. But nobody told the border guys that.)

They demanded that he take the owls out of the crates for inspection. He refused; these were very, very angry, agitated wild birds. They asked him lots of questions. They finally asked why he was taking the owls to canada, and he explained that that’s where they’re from.

The customs agent demanded “WELL, how did Canada’s owls even get to America in the first place?!”

My friend responded, “Sir. They can fly.”

The customs agent let him go.

the problem with children is that theyre very excited to hear about monsters and death and so on but at one point they stop being excited and start getting scared and you gotta be good in spotting the exact moment before this happens to start backtracking everything. yes yes vampires are real and drink people's blood but no they don't live here and they cannot come here because uuuuh they cant travel outside the place they died in. it's vampire science. yes i studied it.
