Works by Alexey Egorov
Hi! sorry to bother you, but I've been digging for fashion inspiration for this story I'm working on, and I can't find any references for the painter, or even what the style of dress is.
No problem! The painting is Patricipance of Venice by Alexandre Cabanel, painted in 1881. (source, full picture) I would say the figure is meant to be late medieval/early renaissance (1400s? 1500s?) Venetian. The painting is from a few centuries later, so it's a piece of historical fiction, essentially, and I have no idea how historically accurate/inaccurate it is. Here are some actually 16th century (1500s) Venetian portraits, and you can see some similarities. I'm not terribly familiar with the terminology for various parts of this outfit: if anybody wants to chime in with more information, please do!
Hot tip for finding the name of a painting/painter: if you're using Google Chrome, right-click (tap and hold if you're on a phone) and select "search image with Google lens". This allows you to search the net for that particular image. You can also go to Google image search and search by image by selecting the little camera icon in the search bar: you can drag an image, upload a file, or paste an image link. Luckily, this one was easy: Google lens brought the artist, painting title, and full image up on the first try! Sometimes you have to noodle around with the results more to find a source.
