in the latest cyber-news: the internet archive has lost their case against 4 major publishing houses (verge article). they’re going to appeal, but this is still a bad outcome. the fate of the internet is currently hanging in the balance because 4 multibillionare publishing groups missed out on like $15 of combined revenue during the pandemic because of the archive’s online library service. it’s so fucking stupid.
for those who don’t know what the internet archive is, it’s a virtual library full of media. books, magazines, recordings, visuals, flash games, websites - a lot of these things either don’t exist anymore or cannot be found & bought. heard of the wayback machine? that’s part of the internet archive. it is the most important website to exist, and i don’t say that lightly. if the internet archive goes down, the cultural loss will be immeasurable.
so how can you help?

People don't like to admit it bcs cringe or w/e but Homestuck really did revolutionize the webcomic as a storytelling medium and I am endlessly frustrated that before webcomic artists could really stretch our legs fucking webtoonz swooped in, set a new, more restrictive standard, and then monetized and monopolized the ever living fuck out of the concept of The Webcomic until it drove away anyone who couldn't be a professional quality manga artist for free, and now the only webcomics that actually feel like spiritual successors to Homestuck are so obscure they're basically cult classics that you have to beg people to read.
Like it's just so wild to be in high school and see Homestuck be like "we're using like fifteen different artistic mediums to tell this story bcs we can" and be really fucking inspired by that, only to grow up and see basically every webcomic ever have to conform to One Single Standard or fucking perish.
Actually, I realized my real point here: we all need to make our art weirder. Please make weird art. I want more stuff like Prequel Adventure and 17776 and MyHouse.wad and I want it now. Capitalism thrives on conformity. We must be weird at all costs.

i fucking love people here you guys see this dinnerplate-faced daycare animatronic and go "what if they were detectives" and you make all this amazing astounding art and writing and concepts and designs like yeah . sure . im going to be normal abt this and im not going to think about the incredible levels of creativity involved im not gointg to think about how much i love seeing beginner artists using the dca as a way to learn new skills in art and character design Im not going to think about how much joy is in all those AUs and how much artists and writers put aspects of whatever they enjoy in those stupid ass clowns to make these incredible inspired stories and artworks absolutely Brimming with love for what they created &how much i love seeing people in the community huddling around those AUs and hyping them up and making More Art from those yeah im normal. whatever
A little shocked I have to say this but please don't feed my work, my writing or my art, to any AI for generative purposes or otherwise. Generative AI is theft, and innocent intentions are not an excuse. I'm not going to explain why generative AI is bad, many artists and writers have already done that much more eloquently than I ever could. Do your own research. I work professionally in art and have been deeply personally impacted by AI, and seeing AI versions of my characters is deeply upsetting.

Well, today I woke up to @kenopsia-official apparently following me, which baffled me as much as it excited me since I don’t really do anything here! 14 year old me would be freaking out right now if I went back and time and told them! I took it as a sign to finally draw Leiru, who I absolutely adore!!!
I've been working on this project for a while and I think it's time to show them off. These are propaganda/health and safety reminder posters for the Office for the Preservation of Normalcy, an organization that deals with the supernatural in a canon I'm working on. I have some lore I'm working on, but these posters will be the main thing that exists for now. The "sample" watermark is because I would like to sell higher-quality printouts and files in the future.
At this stage I'm looking for feedback. How do they look visually? Could a tagline be punchier? Please please let me know what you think.
I also forgot...to upload him onto my tumblr sooo uhhh... This is Qichilro [Cee-SHIL-roh], a cold sembla beltasian!! Qichilro was a kraizen who owned a dance based club/studio mix and looked after the troupe of dancers who worked there. He cares deeply for his troupe and for those around him, a quirky fella with his suave and sassy attitude. It isn't hard for him to make friends though sometimes he can be quite overbearing with his high expectations on how things are done, after all he is a perfectionist and it bothers him greatly where there is disorder. Asides from this he is a friendly person who is extremely passionate about art and performance.
He played a very important role in Neliotte's life prior to the brandshock, beings as he was the one who helped them a lot in regards of their dancing career.
can a weres' sclera color specifically be anything? or is it limited to only white since their blood color can't change?
The eyes are actually supposed to be reflective of human eyes; monsters who lose their physical humanity save for the eyes. I'm a little looser about pupils for Weres, but their sclera needs to stay white to keep that "humanity's eyes" vibe.
