You know what? I've grown tired of seeing a lot of Female Reader stories and rarely finding Male Reader stories. But I just want to express how I feel about this with this song.

but you can write something very plain.

You don’t have to write some genre-redefining masterpiece. You can write a story about two people very simply falling in love. You can just write a story about a person going to the store. You could, if you were so inclined, just re-write Star Wars but like, make all the names start with M.

Don’t let the fear of not-writing something transcendent stop you from just writing.

shoutout to slow creators!

i know it can be disheartening to work so slowly when it seems like everyone around you works so fast and churns out great content left and right. i know it's easy to get frustrated with yourself for having to spend so much time on one thing and sometimes it's hard to stay motivated long enough to finish. but the things you make are so good, and taking lot of time on something isn't a bad thing. creation can be a very painstaking process, but the amount of love and care and effort and attention you pour into your work bleeds through. people can feel it. they appreciate it. they see how hard you try and they see how your thoughtful approach to creation affects the quality of the end product. speed is definitely a skill you can develop and chances are as you practice more and get more comfortable with things, you'll be able to work faster. but no matter what, the things you make are worth waiting for. keep creating! you are wonderful!

- Daichi is definitely supportive of his s/o, whether it’s something they do as a hobby or something professionally. Although, part of him honestly has a little bit of a hard time getting his head wrapped around all of the different content that his boyfriend puts out.

- Secretly thinks that their Vtube model [If it looks similar to s/o] looks really cute. Probably has a couple pieces of fanatics of them saved on his phone if he ever sees some of it online.

- Will always come with water, tea or something for him to drink when he is editing videos. Although, if it’s too late into the night, then you better be prepared to be met with Daichi's pout and him dragging you back into bed, complaining about how editing in the middle of night was bad regardless of the video ending up coming a bit later out during the day than it usually would.

- In his mind, his s/o's health comes first. Which is why he’s started carrying around extra water and cough drops, just in case I’d there should ever be any issues of his boyfriend staying up too late or being horse next day from recording.

- Can’t really watch the more sensual videos out in the open, but he may or may not do so in private. Sometimes when he can’t sleep though, he will watch those compilations of him '[Name/Stage-name] being adorable for 12 minutes' and just can’t help but smile over it.

- If he got asked if he wanted to feature in a video, he might have to think over it for a bit. But, if it was something more chill, like just sitting down and chatting on a live-stream perhaps, that could probably more be his style.

Kurō Tetsuro:

- While there may have been teasing involved about it when the cat was out of the bag, there is no denying that he is immensely proud of his boyfriend, whether there is just a small fan following or not. Something about someone with a passion, whether it’d be similar to his own or something completely different, just couldn’t help but make him feel attracted to someone.

- Since he is used to people staying up later than was probably healthy, I don’t think he will be too mad about it. All that work that gets put into the videos takes time, after all. But, if he sees him on the edge to fall asleep or get too stressed about it, then it’s break time. He’d even offer to massage his boyfriend's tense shoulders and sore back, if it could help them relax more.

- Talks to Kenna a whole lot about it. Kuroo just can’t help but find it so cool that his best friend is kind of getting a bit tired of hearing about it as often as he does. Even on his phone, it’s kinda evident; with all the screenshots, fanart and even having his Vtuber avatar as a background picture, since they are so cute.

- Prefers to listen to their videos when he’s alone, like doing homework or heading home on his own. Part of Kuroo just can’t help but smile as he feels the tingles travel over his body from the sound of that adorable, quiet voice that he hears through his headphones.

- THIS BOY RIGHT HERE– Look, you’re not ever going to feel any sense of embarrassment or of the like when you’re together with Oikawa. He'll shower all the love and appreciation over him if there’s ever a day that he’s feeling down, stressed from all of the video and sound editing or the posting schedule.

- Tōru makes sure to keep cough drops on him for his boyfriend in case he was recording too much the night over. He also often makes sure to, whenever he’s over, to get some tea for them to enjoy together. When you use your voice as much as you do, it’s important to not overuse it, right?

- His lover's videos are probably the only thing that can rival how long he spends on seeing volleyball tapes in the middle of the night. There’s even times where they’re so calming that he ends up falling asleep from it with a small smile on his lips.

- The other third years have definitely heard enough stories of them in their lifetime with how long he can go on about him. There’s just no helping when it comes to that. Though, it’s only really around his team– He doesn’t want his fans to bother them about it and their relationship. And if it were to happen, he would definitely tell them off.

- All in all, Tōru is above supportive when it comes to what his boyfriend wants to do, especially when it comes to something to do with what he’s passionated about. He really couldn’t be more proud to see someone he loves so dearly enjoying their interest in such a way.

Bokuto Kōtarō:

- Oh, Bokuto is excited, alright? His lovable, handsome boyfriend is a Vtuber? He just couldn’t be more proud! You’ve earned yourself your biggest hype man. It definitely calls for big hugs and kisses everyday, including whenever a major achievement has happened in his career and on his channel.

- Sometimes he has to remember that there needs to be quiet when his s/o is filming. A few accidents have happened where he walked in on him talking quietly into the mic or making a sound effect, happily calling him in a loud voice before it became clear what he was doing. But don’t worry, all is forgiven and Kō will always apologize, watching from the bed or a nearby chair if needed.

- He loves the Vtuber model! He definitely thinks it’s really cute, especially if it looks like his s/o. He would probably save a whole lot of fanart and screenshots of them, that it would be almost all there was on the album on his phone.

- Has no shame about where he’s listening to it. Whether it’d be out in public other his headphones on, in his breaks or at home. He's practically listened to them all, but has sometimes just ended up falling asleep from how peaceful some of them are.

- If asked if he wanted to appear, the biggest smile will be on his face. Kōtarō would love nothing more to get to be apart of something so cool and something that his boyfriend cared about so dearly.

Ushijima Wakatoshi:

- For Ushijima to understand what it was, you’d definitely have to sit him down and explain it to him, because otherwise he honestly wouldn’t even be sure about to make of it. He may be a genius when it comes to volleyball, but there are still a lot of things that he doesn’t fully get on the level that some others might.

- Though, once understanding it, he would definitely be supportive of it. That was, even if he didn’t really get the full appeal of what his boyfriend posted. He might get a few jokes in good fun thrown at him from his teammates ~~Tendō~~ because of it, but he is genuinely interested in getting to know about it because of it being his s/o's passion.

- Would listen to the videos without thinking all that much about it in the start, mostly just at home where he can really just sit and watch them for to their fullest. Often after a new video has been posted, he’ll go watch it and let [Name] know that he did a good job as always, like the sweetheart that he is.

- If his boyfriend wanted to do a q&a or something similar, Wakatoshi wouldn’t have too much against it. Mostly, it might just be a worry if him and his fans would enjoy him being there, or if his s/o would even want to let their relationship be known to anyone.

- Will help carry equipment if it’s ever needed. There’s even times where he will buy or get certain things that could become useful for a video. Some may not end up being used, but Ushijima is just glad to see that there gets taken such good care of what gets put up and not. - Most of the time, he usually doesn’t bring it up in public. It’s both of what his s/o would prefer, but also because he can’t see why it matter. - This definitely brings out the mother hen part of Kita, especially if his boyfriend is the type to sit up late and work. Whether that goes for recording or editing– He will definitely want to know how long you’ve been going for and if it’s too late, he will have you get some sleep or rest.

- Another boy who will get something for him to snack on. Though, unlike the others, the food is more on the healthy side; like fruit, vegetables and sometimes something bigger like an onigiri. There will also always be a bottle of water or a hot drink waiting at the desk when Kita knew that the other had things to do.

- While it’s not something that he usually watch, Shinsuke does watch his boyfriend's videos when he has time. They are rather relaxing to listen to, especially if he’s cleaning, cooking or doing something else while doing so. The ones that’s more relaxing are his favorite.

- If he’s ever asked to join for a video, he would probably have his doubts. But, if it’s something more low-key, then he could be up for it. He doesn’t exactly want to have his boyfriend's fans/subscribers to only want to be interested in their relationship rather than what gets put out.

- [Slight manga spoilers? Nothing specific] If you move in together, then he’ll definitely help set up a room for him to record in, as well as help get some specific stuff that might be needed for videos. Kita isn’t an expert in the field, but he’s willing to help out.

- When it comes to his friends around him that brings it up, though, Kita will without hesitating to show how happy he is of his s/o. It’s not everyone that makes it and to see you go that far? Haiji Kiyose headcanons because I need more rwtw rn.

- When Haiji takes Nira on walks, they usually go one of two routes: a small one around the neighborhood, maybe towards of the park if they have time. The other one, they go all the way to the river and back, with a small break in between. They enjoy both of them.

- While he does have the looks, Haiji is oblivious to how ridiculous his outfits can look. Riding after Kakeru on a bike in flip flops and chasing after his senpai in an apron and track suit has sort of made that picture. ~~Let’s be honest, tho. He does look good in anything.~~

- His lock screen is that of a of a setting sun that he took during the summertime, but his lock screen is a picture from one of the team's parties where they got drunk.

- He always has blackmail and Nira pictures and extra notes written on there.

- Oji once convinced Haiji to watch anime together. He didn’t get all of them, or why Oji was screaming or freaking out during some parts of it, but had fun.

- He liked Fruit basket the most. Hatori was his favorite, but also felt like he recognized some of Kyo from somewhere ~~[Ahem, A specific first year, maybe. You didn’t hear that from me.].~~

- Once back in first year of high school, he challenged Fujioka to race on their way home from practice. They ended up tripping and rolling down a small hill. There was no winner that day, just two boys with grass in their hair.

- Haiji sometimes buys books but doesn’t really get them read, since he is busy with both the track club and with his studies.

- During some time of the post-Hakone, he started to read again to pass time at the hospital and at home.

- Speaking is books and running, I’m sure that Haiji has at least read or heard once of Murakami Haruki’s ‘What I talk about when I talk about running’. Probably one of his favorite non-fiction books.

- His cooking abilities came from watching his mom cook during middle school, but he first started getting into it during first year at university, seeing as there wasn’t anyone else at Aotake that could.

- Doesn’t fully get every meme that is out there, likes ones with cats and dogs in.

- Spends Golden week, summer and winter break at Aotake during his college days. He had no need to go back home, at least, not for now. Even after, he doesn’t travel back all that often.

- Okay, so Haiji is canonically from the country side, which would mean that he probably wasn’t all that used to the loud city that was Tokyo. Even if it was in a peaceful neighborhood where Aotake stood at. So, it might’ve taking him a while to really get used to it.

- After graduation, he definitely has a ~~secret~~ tradition with calling Kakeru before Hakone. Some about the team, general training and practices, but it usually ends out in conversations that feels like it has as little to do with that in the first place, ending up going on for so long that the phone bill could almost be dragging on the floor. But, that doesn’t stop Haiji from dialing up his kōhai when the opportunity arrives.

General headcanons for Chiba Ryūnosuke:

-So, As a lot of us know, Chiba is one of generally more quiet students in the class, in comparison to a lot of the other students in class E-3. But he definitely joins in on the chaos when he wants to sometimes.

- I’m almost 100% on that if any of the teachers would let students listen to music during class, he would be the one kid listening to his stuff while diligently doing all his work.

- Since it’s canon that he formerly was in the light music club, he probably is able to play at least one type of instrument ~~I’m betting one guitar,, mainly blaming all the Chiba lovers on Tumblr for me not being able to unsee it.~~

- Helps out if they need to draw out maps in an easier way to see, due to his love and skills for triangulation. Even though they don’t do it much, he still enjoys it.

- When it comes to bands he likes, I could kinda see him be into bands like X-Japan, due to their well-known rock music legendarily-ness that they have come to be known for. Though, since he is into hard Japanese rock music in general, he probably does have an interesting in a lot of different ones, too.

- Probably likely to keep some contact with some of his classmates after graduating, outside of the yearly meetings in the future. Maybe not as much as others, but they all know just how much they have learned about themselves and how many friends that they had gained over the year, so there’s a likely chance of the bond never breaking with his closest friends.

Let’s unpack this. No Mr. Mizunetzu purple theme right now, I just wanna talk about this.

Now, here’s a little context: a few days ago, i realized just how much females read my content. Mainly accounts that have she/her in their bio, or have “girl” as part of their username. I was a bit taken back, but I brushed it off again until I got a anon who told me, and I quote:

“ahh omg i love your work so much. i’m a girl (who hates it lmao) but i love reading your male reader stuff cuz i feel like there’s not as much of it in existence?? and it makes me so happy and i get to pretend im a boy for a bit :) also sry if i’m not sending this in the right place i don’t do much with tumblr other than read hahah” —for those who are seeing this and the image isn’t loading

No hate to the person who sent this. But this rubbed me the wrong way. It made me extremely uncomfortable, because my content is for males and occasionally genderneutral people. But I brushed it off again, because I couldn’t really do anything about it.

But when I saw this, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m sick of females trying to intrude into the one little part of tumblr us males have.

So let’s dissect this. Piece by piece.

“why don’t you write for female readers...?”

There are a multitude of reasons why male content writers do not write for female readers. For one, they are MALE content writers. Two, like me, we are creating content for ourselves, because there is already a plethera of female reader inserts, and we got sick of reading content that describes us as a petite, cute girl. Also, for ftm writers, writing female content may trigger dysphoria.

One, I want you to tell me exactly where you found this “flood of male content”. I’d love to see it. When I type in “Kuroo x male reader”, I’m pretty sure I’ve scrolled to the absolute bottom of that tag. Kuroo’s a popular character, so by your logic, I shouldn’t have been able to bottom out that tag in less than a night. But I did. But as opposed to scrolling the general “Kuroo x reader” tag, it’s “flooded” with female reader and even I couldn’t find the end to that tag. Full of female reader.

So say it with me: male readers don’t have as much content as you think.

So saying “you should be inclusive to us too” is frankly bullshit. You have the rest of tumblr. There is no reason to be intruding in the small haven us male content writers have in our blogs, asking for female content when all you have to do is search “___ x reader”. And hell, if you’re that determined not to have male reader on your dash, go crazy with the “___ x fem reader” tag.

Also saying “it’s not fair when I have to read your work and see it’s x male reader.” You are on Kozumedenki’s blog, miss. No one is forcing you to read the 10% of male content on tumblr as opposed to the other 90% of fem reader on tumblr. Kozumedenki is a blog that does not cater to you, just as my blog and many other male blogs. We are not forcing you to read the small amount of male reader on this app.

Miss, how do you think we feel when we have had to read female reader content and change the pronouns in our head for years? Just because you’re getting this small lick of oppression that you can easily avoid by going to the general x reader tag flooded with fem reader, doesn’t mean tumblr has been “overrun” by male reader. And if it has, just go to ao3 or Wattpad.

When you say you hate it that you have to change pronouns in your head with male content, that’s exactly how we feel with the normalized fem reader in fanfics as a man. You just had a taste of it.

Just because female’s write for male reader, does not mean we owe you female reader. Female reader is normalized in fanfiction, and I do appreciate females who write for males. But think about it for a second: it’s to be inclusive. Males do not have much on this app, and I’m grateful for females who do try and be inclusive on their blogs.

But saying it’s insensitive for males to not write for females is bullshit. We do not owe you anything. It’s like saying “I did something for you, so it’s rude for you not to do it back for me.”

And this quote, “it was wayy better when it was girl reader x character.” pushed me over the edge. You say you want inclusivity when it comes to having Kozumedenki write female reader, but in reality you just want to get rid of male reader, or have more female reader when you already have a plethora of it. This content was not made for you, so stop trying to erase it.

Tl;dr, male insert content are already pretty scarce when it comes to fanfiction. Unless this person was intentionally seeking it out, she would have no way of coming across it minus the one or two fics that would’ve popped up on the “___ x reader” tag. And I frankly think that vague tag automatically translating to female reader is bullshit.

Male readers have so little content it’s not even funny. We go into male reader tags and I guarantee at least 20% of the stories are improperly tagged female reader fics with male reader shoved into the tags.

Us blogs who write male reader stories don’t owe anyone ANYTHING, we’re just barely starting to make a dent in the fandom scene and finally making a space catered to ourselves.

I still have yet to see any tags “flooded” with male reader content. There’s so little made for us that most of the time it’s honestly a waste of time going through male reader tags. We don’t don’t have that many content creators to make content for us in the first place.

If you want female reader stories go into the search bar and search up “(character) x reader” and choose from one of the thousands of fem reader fics.

Kozumedenki is not in the wrong here his account is clearly advertised as a male/ftm reader only space and you chose to read his content. He shouldn’t have to make himself uncomfortable writing what he doesn’t like it’s his account not yours, you don’t get a say in what is created.

Nobody is forcing you to consume male reader content. If you don’t like that we’re making our own space then leave stay in your corner and we’ll stay in ours. You don’t go into someone’s account and throw your harmful opinions at people that’s not how this works.

And if you have to put someone else down for “not being inclusive” when they make content for a specific group of people who don’t have much content to begin with, then you really need to take a look at yourself and open your eyes to the reality that we are not here for you.

Our content is not made for you and it never will be.

And if there are fem readers who enjoy our content, that’s great cool just keep it to yourself you don’t need to tell everyone that you’re a fem reader reading male reader stuff. Most of us don’t care and it just makes us confused as to why you felt the need to tell us that you’re consuming content not made for you.

That’s all I have to say right now.

I don’t mean to take over a post, but I actually did a project on this for my sociology of deviance class in college!

I carried a large stuffed rabbit whenever I went in public for about a week to observe the reaction of others. The point of the project was to do something harmless yet unusual to see if the action would be considered deviant, in which case someone had to try to correct or shame the behavior.

Long story short, nobody tried to correct my behavior. I was asked about it casually, had a few lingering stares thrown my way and when I was with my boyfriend, shop employees would direct questions to him instead of me. However, nobody refused to assist me when I was alone in a store, nobody said anything about the rabbit besides “oh, thats a cute bunny!” and I attended college classes without even a teacher questioning it.

In conclusion, it is socially acceptable to carry a stuffed animal, its just not a societal norm. ^^

My friend gave me a stuffed monkey plushy when I was struggling with uni, and I took him everywhere for like four years, usually velcrod to my backpack. No one said a damn thing, except my renaissance professor who saw it one day in the hallway and cracked the fuck up because I had a literal monkey on my back and he just looked at me like, “oh god, me too”. I used to leave him on desks during classes and exams (the monkey, not my prof). It was my reminder that someone cared if I was coping. But more than that it was soothing to have something to fidget with that wasn’t a pen. I used to ping those fucking things across the room I was so agitated. Harder to hurt people with a projectile stuffed monkey.

I got what I thought was a normal screen cleaning kit for my computer while I was in college. Much to my delight, instead of a little washcloth or whatever, the kit came with a tiny stuffed pig.

So I carried this pig in my backpack all through college, periodically taking it out, spraying my screen, and using the pig to wipe it off.

Now, I kept the pig in the side pocket of my bag where he was completely visible.

Then one day in screenwriting class I pulled him out to wipe my screen.

One of the guys sitting next to me looked appalled. “You’re wiping it off with your little stuffed animal??”

I explained what the pig was.

Turns out, the guy had noticed it and just thought it was adorable I carried a stuffed animal with me every day. He’d never mentioned it before.

Honestly, people do not care, and will not say anything. No matter the reason for your little stuffed animal friend.

I have a couple of Ikea sharks* and have had cause to periodically carry them around in public - one of which I bought with the last $15 I had at the time, after making a series of big life changes. “This is frivolous and I don’t have to care about that because I’m getting paid shortly—I’m going to do it!”

The reactions I get range from amusement through delight and “WHERE DID YOU GET THAT” but so far, never disapproval.

The moral of the story is Carry Your Emotional Support Plushie With Pride, You Deserve It.

I travel with DC (”Don’t Care”) the Emotional Support Honey Badger. I go through TSA with him attached to my backpack, I hug him when I sleep in transit, I prop him next to me in cafes in cities, towns, and rural areas. The only time anyone’s ever so much as raised an eyebrow at me was the TSA agent who recognized what he was, and asked it he could get his picture taken with him.

People don’t judge. Kids think you’re awesome. You get a companion who never judges you. It’s all win.

the boyfriend had to go to hospital two years ago, big heart surgery and he wanted something of mine so I gave him my stuffed Toothless which I’ve gotten from the BFF a while back. Toothless sat on his nightstand in three different hospitals, watching over him and nobody even batted an eye. some nurses asked about him, but that was all. He was there when he came out of surgery and has been HIS ever since. so yeah, carry your emotional support plushy with you. It helps YOU and that’s all that matters!!!

I take Tigz, the plushie Tiger I’ve had nearly forty years, with me on holiday because I can’t sleep without him. Every hotel I’ve stayed at I’ve come back to find room service have made the bed, changed the towels… And tucked Tigz up in the bed with his squashed little head on the pillow, or put him by the window so he can enjoy the view, or put in a comfy armchair with a book for company.

Seriously, if anyone takes offence to your plush, it’s their problem, not you. And IKEA sharks are AMAZING
