I don’t ship Mr. Link legend of Zelda with anyone because he purposefully has the personality of a courageous piece of tissue paper and therefore just comes off as being married to his job from my point of view
Like obviously Nintendo has a few girl or woman characters they want to give you the option of thinking that Link could fall in love with. But I think that Link isn’t into any of them. He likes riding horses and hitting stuff with the master sword. He’s got no time to fall in love. Is he straight? Gay? Ace? Other unspecified sexuality? He’s never slowed down enough to think about it and he never will. He identifies as a problem for the forces of evil and that’s it.
Skyward Sword Link probably has the most personality out of all of them and even his biggest character traits are that he wants to protect his friend and his home and he has a tendency to sleep in too much. He uses his all powerful triforce wish to destroy the demon king. Dude is a special talented teachers pet that’s saving the world. He has no time for kissing.
Same thing goes for his gender, really. What’s in his pants is justice. If you ask him if he’s trans or cis he’ll just go “Hyah!” and jump off of some tall surface.
It takes a lot of energy to jump off of tall surfaces and roll across the fields of Hyrule screaming the whole time. Of course he likes food.

The Barbie movie openly addresses the creator of Barbie’s tax fraud with no irony but with no malice either and it caught me so off guard it fucking ruled
every moment of every day i am thinking about this tiktok
Lumpfish come in a variety of shapes and colors.
[He scoops up the fish, it spits water and he turns it toward the camera]
This one is stumpy and green. Very beautiful, very powerful.
[He picks up another fish and turns it toward the camera]
This is what a normal lumpfish looks like. It is more elongated, but still a vibrant blue color. Very beautiful, very powerful.
[He picks up another fish and turns it toward the camera]
This is one of the stumpiest ones we have. Its hump is very high. It is very stumpy, but yet very beautiful, and very powerful.
[He pans over a lot of fish, all looking up at the camera]
My fish army is ever growing, and soon I will over throw the world. Very beautiful, very powerful.
because of this tiktok, i frequently murmur "very beautiful, very powerful" at myself, and i cannot recommend it enough.
Inspired by the word searches I shared yesterday, here is a brand new way to discover your gender! The first word you see is your shiny new gender identity!
This is just for fun! A lot of the words in there are random. :)
Barbie spoilers but one of the funniest things about the “it was too feminist and woke” reviews is that a big chunk of the movie is Ken finding his own agency as a separate entity from Barbie and that the patriarchy also negatively affects men, like Greta Gerwig went “this movie is absolutely also for men” and it STILL flew over their anti feminist heads
Just got home from the Barbie movie and wow.
I can't stop thinking about how beautifully the Barbie movie portrays that often times when men (speaking in very binary terms, apologies) are hurt and feel wronged they'll act out in ways that hurt people, may that be purposefully or inadvertently. And society enforces this. Meanwhile women, who are used to living in a hostile world, will often express and process their pains in ways that don't harm others.
But Ken never wanted to hurt anyone. He just was hurt and didn't know how to deal with it. He found the first thing that gave him an outlet and some inkling of comfort and latched onto it. And after Ken has had his supposed "villain arc", Barbie isn't mad at him. She lets him know it's okay to cry.
The villain was never Ken himself, it was the fact that society is built in a way that prevents men from having ways to safely process and regulate their emotions. A society that punishes men for crying and confiding in friends and wanting to be comforted.
The Barbie movie isn't anti men. It's a big fuck you to our society that is hellbent on keeping everyone in an eternal cycle of hurt.
“Ken wouldn’t do that to Barbie, it’s out of character!” Babes, that is the point.
Ken and his discovery of the patriarchy and the way it changes him is the exact same as what happens with adolescent boys. You have these guys who were so close to you, wether through friendship or family become people that they aren’t due to both peer pressure and the desire to hold power. Especially with the whole “podcast bro” thing he had going on in the Ken Dojo Casa House scene, Ken represents all the boys that lean into the patriarchy and change for the worst.
Ken was always so sweet, he was stupid and lovable and would do anything for Barbie. Then he got roped into toxic masculinity and all of a sudden he was cruel and pretentious. This is the same path that many of the guys I was friends with as a kid fell down. Barbie represents growing up as a woman and Ken represents growing up as a man.
having a hyperfixation is soooooo embarrassing like I’m obsessed with this thing stoppp don’t look lol
