Finding the Road Less Traveled

@singingrainorshine / singingrainorshine.tumblr.com

Hello! I'm Caroline, nineteen, and I've been in recovery for anorexia and exercise addiction since 2011. I am a perpetual worrier and can be awkward at times, but I love myself more now than I ever have. Please, feel free to message me about pretty much anything!

The person I reblogged this from deserves to be happy

I tried to scroll past this. I really did

I feel like minor acts of kindness and good intentions are really important on days like this.

PLEASE HELP

I never thought I’d make a post like this, but here I am.

My friend Kelly is 16 and has 2 years to live.

Kelly is an inspiring, artistic, clever and beautiful girl.

She has been diagnosed with Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) in October 2015. It’s a rare, aggressive cancer that usually begins in the abdomen. It’s so rare that only 20 adolescents in USA are diagnosed with it a year.

Our friend Kelly has been through 9 rounds of chemotherapy but the tumors are close to her liver. The operation is not possible in UK.

THERE IS HOPE.

There is hope in  The University College Hospital @ London, The MSK @ New York and possibly Christies @ Manchester.

The surgery in USA is not covered by insurance and so we have to found it. We need you to help.  We need £1million for this to happen. We have 80 days.  We need help.

you know i try to keep this blog on-topic, but signal boost! this article was from june 2016 so this is still ongoing. please support if you can and reblog if you can’t!

Felt the need to signal boost this again. According to this update, the hospital has taken scans and confirmed that they can and will do the surgery, but the family is only at about 10% of their goal. Please give if you can, and share Kelly’s story if you can’t. I can’t imagine what it feels like to know something could save your life but also knowing that you can’t afford it. No one deserves to go through suffering like this. Let’s do what we can to see that Kelly won’t have to, either.

Guys, a reblog can make the difference.

Face your eating disorder fears

Do not feel stupid for having fears in recovery. Your eating disorder has instilled so much fear in you in order to control your thoughts and your behaviors, so it makes sense that you are afraid of certain types of foods, certain types of socialization, certain types of emotions, etc. Please, do not feel stupid for having these fears. Obviously it doesn’t make rational sense to be afraid of something like eating a cheeseburger, but there is nothing rational about eating disorders. The ability to really indulge in rational thinking unfolds in the recovery process. You are going to experience fear in recovery, but the fear that recovery presents to you is different than the fear that your ED forces upon you. In recovery, you are afraid because you are challenging false fundamental beliefs and rules that have been established by your ED, and facing the truth and facing your fears is scary! But my god, it is such inarticulable empowerment that you will feel when you face those fears and put your ED in its place. So, just focusing on tonight, do a pro-recovery behavior that really scares you (in that good type of way) and makes your ED squirm. Yes, you may be afraid to challenge your ED, but I promise you that the only consequences of facing these ED fears is growth and progress, not those worst-case scenarios that your ED has you believe. You can do this; face a fear tonight!

i saw this on imgur and well, even if something like this is going around on tumblr already it is important.

Idk why you’d give a dog fruit but cool! Here’s some safety tips.

“Idk why you’d give a dog fruit” because dogs love fruit and it’s a 100% healthier alternative to baked treats

DOGS ARE ALLOWED TO EAT BLUEBERRIES!! THE SWR FANDOM IS IN UPROAR!! “PROTECT THE BLUEBERRY 2K15″ BECOMES THE BATTLE CRY!!

Okay, but seriously:

Please Reblog, you might Save a Life.

Not just the life of a dog, but also the life of its human(s). Many people have therapy dogs. If they inadvertently lost their dogs because they do not know these facts, they might get into depression and that might not end well.
