Fanboys and Fake IDs (1/?)
Guan Shan hears his friend shouting from across the courtyard, he turns and sees Xiao Tutou coming towards him looking excited.
“Shan, Shan, Shan,” he yells when he’s up to him.
“What’s up with you?” Guan Shan asks, rarely seeing his friend this excited.
“Guess what my brother and sister got me for my birthday,” he squeals, like actual squeals.
“I don’t know, a new video game,” Guan Shan guesses. He knew his friend wanted a multiplayer game that just came out. He would have gotten it for him if it wasn’t so expensive, so he settled for getting him a skateboard, which he fixed up himself. It seems like Xiao Tutou likes it, cause he’s been riding it to school the whole week.
“Nope, just the most amazing gift ever! Well, except for the gift you gave me, which I love”.
“Yeah thanks, but what did they give you?” It must be really good. Xiao Tutou is the middle child of seven siblings, the oldest brother, twin sisters, himself, two more twin siblings and the youngest is a baby sister and they all care for each other.
“They gave me not ONE, but TWO tickets to see, guess who” he makes a face like he can’t stop smiling and Guan Shan finally gets it.
“No way! You’re going to see 19 Days!”
“You mean WE are going to see 19 Days! Oh, AND Li Xiu Ying!”, he waves the tickets in front of Guan Shan’s face.
“Me?” Guan Shan questions confused.
“Yep, you’re the only other person I know who knows who they are, plus you have a crush on Li Xiu Ying” he winks.
“I don’t have a crush on her,” Guan Shan blushes. “She’s just an awesome guitarist, one of the best, I admire her skills,” he explains.
“Yeah yeah whatever, so are you in?” He hands Guan Shan a ticket.
“Fuck yeah” Guan Shan give him a high five. He then looks at the ticket and notices a huge problem. “Wait. This is at club Wolf, we can’t get in there. They’re strict on checking ID’s after that high school girl almost died and had to get her stomached pumped. The cops raid that place all the time.”
“Yeah,” he scratches the back of his head trying to avoid eye contact, “I was hoping you could do something about that”.
“Me? What could-“ Mo thought about and then it hit him. “No.”
“Please, it’s a once in a lifetime chance. Come on, it’s our favorite band and Li Xiu Ying is playing too. Besides you already have a fake it’s just me that needs one.”
“My mom found mine awhile ago when she was doing the laundry. I fucking forgot in my pants. Plus I got mine from She Li. I can’t go and ask him for a favor, especially after everything that has happened, he’ll kill me.”
“Yeah right, She Li forgives you every single time. You were like his favorite. Before you saved me he would have made a scar right on my face unlike what he gave you.” Xiao Tutou notices Guan Shan’s worried face and is quick to apologize. “I’m sorry boss it’s just…he’s done a lot worse to other guys for a lot less. Remember that kid who dropped juice on his new shoes. Dude still can’t hold a pencil right.”
Memories of him begging on his knees for She Li to forgive him cross his mind. “Yeah, but you don’t know what I had to do afterward.” He remembers how She Li would say that he can’t give him special treatment just cause they’re friends and that he doesn’t mean what he did to Guan Shan and if wants to stay friends he’d have to work harder. He can already hear the whispers, ‘who else is going to want you. I’m all you got’. He used to believe that.
“I’ll be with you the entire time. If he tries anything, we leave and find someone else to help us.”
Mo contemplates his options, act like a fool for She Li and go to the concert or act like a fool and not go to the concert. Hell, he’s going to that concert, if he has to stroke She Li’s ego then fuck it, he’ll do it. It’s not like he’s getting rid of his pride, no one can take that away from him. It’s his and his alone. “Alright, I’ll talk to She Li,” he finally agreed.
“Yes!! You definitely won’t regret-.”
“Who’s talking to She Li?” The question comes out of nowhere, scaring the both of them.
