Dear You.
I wonder what you’re like. Are you tall? Do you have kind eyes that crinkle when you smile? Can you see your thoughts in them? I wonder what you smell like. Do you smell warm and comforting like a fire with a hint of spice, or sweet and friendly like honey? I wonder what your hugs are like. I wonder if I’ll feel at home in your arms. I wonder if they’re soft and light, or if they’re tight and accepting. I hope they’re like a big bear hug that i never want to leave. I wonder what your hands are like. Are they soft and gentle or tough from years of hard work? I wonder if our hands will fit together. I wonder what your laugh is like. Is it soft, light and sweet, unwanted to be noticed, or is it bright and bellowing calling attention to your joy and spreading it around? I wonder if you can find the good and the funny in the little every day things. i wonder how you think. I wonder if you think about the same things I do. About the stories of the people passing by. About heaven and love and the beauty all around us.
I wonder if you ever wonder about me.
forever, your love.
