yes it’s a sundown town but don’t even stop there during the day. that place is full of hate and white supremacy. there are numerous stories in the news about this place with black people going missing, beaten, and murdered. this town has been like this since the early 1900s and nothing has changed. please avoid it if you can.

The whole scene with the ferris wheel, I SOBBED my heart out because I finally saw two gay people kiss on screen. I couldn't see myself in them (because they weren't women) but it made me so genuinely happy.

petitions on the parliament website are legally obligated to be responded to at 10k signatures and have to be debated in parliament at 100k signatures.

the pandemic is absolutely thriving in south asia. i’m not kidding. you might think the US is bad, but the situation in countries like india (which literally surpassed the US for the world’d highest single-day increase in cases) and nepal (which has seen a huge spike in cases recently) is genuinely reached horrible new highs. i have most of my extended family living in nepal, and they can’t go to the hospital for non-covid related issues. there’s barely any social distancing, around 250,000 people are homeless and have no access to proper sanitary resources, and everyone is terrified due to multiple conspiracies about the disease that are spreading like wildfire. the government is incompetent and has barely done anything to help people, and desperation is spreading. india is a bigger country with more resources, and is also suffering, but people in nepal, particularly the ones who live in slums or villages, are prime targets for the virus and will receive absolutely nothing from the government. if you are able, please donate to this fund to support children, particularly orphans, who have been left vulnerable by the effects of the pandemic in nepal. they need your help.
(I am currently looking for fundraisers in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other places in South Asia and will update when I find them)
People need to fully understand what RGB’s death means. It’s not just a vacancy on the supreme court that could be potentially filled by a conservative Justice - that’s an awful thought, but that’s not the main problem.
The problem, is that this is EXACTLY the opportunity Republicans have been looking for for decades. If a conservative nominee is pushed through before the election, and I’m hoping it won’t but if it does, that will lead to a Republican majority in the Supreme Court. And you can bet your life, literally, that they will work to roll back every progressive law they can.
The concept of a separation of church and state is already a joke in this country, but it will get so much worse.
But more than that? Even if a nominee isn’t pushed through…
THAT is what everyone needs to understand. This is a once in a life time opportunity for the Republicans. You think you don’t want to vote for Biden because he’s not exactly who you want? Because he’s not progressive enough or liberal enough?
What about all the Republicans who may not support Trump, but want a Republican majority on the Supreme Court? The ones who may not like him, but would be willing to deal with him for four more years if it means controlling the Supreme Court for the next 40?
It’s awful and unfortunate that RGB died so close to the election. Throughout her life she worked tirelessly to fight for equality. Don’t let her life be in vain.
Now more than ever, it’s important to vote. Everyone. Down the entire ballot.
I’m lucky enough to live in California, a historically Blue state. But those of my followers who live in Red states, you especially need to call your representatives in the Senate and tell them to postpone any nomination. Cite Mitch McConnell’s own actions in 2016. Anything you can do to add pressure. Remind them who they really work for: you, their constituents.
We cannot give up the fight. We can’t. Your vote matters. If it didn’t, why would the GOP be trying so hard to take it away? Make sure you’re registered. If you want to mail in your ballot then drop it off at designated polling stations instead of the post office to ensure it’s counted in time.
I don’t have many followers so I don’t know who will see this, but please, reblog this. Spread the information. RBG’s death will galvanize Republicans out to vote en masse. We can’t afford to be apathetic or disenfranchised. We can make a difference, but not if we don’t bother to try.

hey don't let the media tell you this election is already decided. it's exactly what they said in 2016 and we all remember how THAT worked out. 2020 could be a knife's edge election, and 18-24 year olds could easily be the deciding voice. please register to vote. think about the people that might not survive another four years of this.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg's death makes it all the more necessary that you vote. If the results are in any way debatable, will a conservative dominated supreme court rule that trump loses? Of course not. Vote.

I don’t give a shit if you don’t like Biden (I’m there, he’s not my primary choice) ... a third party vote is the same as a vote for Trump. This is not a drill. Having yet another raging racist sexist fuckup on the court would crush us all.
Third party votes are close enough to votes for Trump that the Republicans have been actively trying to get people to vote for third parties to try to pull votes away from Biden. Anyone running as a third party right now is perfectly well aware that they could end up causing the election to go to Trump, and the fact that they’re doing it anyway makes them far worse than any objection you could possibly have to Biden.
Vote Biden. Vote every blue candidate on the ticket. And make sure as many people as possible do the same.
I know your first impulse is to despair. To say we’re fucked. To feel desperate and hopeless. I feel it. We all feel it.
But Notorious RBG would not have wanted us to lie down and accept defeat.
