Journeys

When we fall asleep on a train How do we know not to fall off the seat? So certain our bodies know how to hold us We set out on journeys with confidence in their uncertainties Because there's always a piece of home in pretending to know

Like the rolling hills and cows unfurling In one long green ribbon behind closed eyes Have always been there frozen in that one moment Waiting for you

I could hold your face forever Study it in every detail, and always find new uncertainties to love I don't think there's a grander journey than that
