she/her / pisces / hungry / 25 / back to nsfw

It used to be a flood of Bocchi and Kikuri pfp users everywhere but now I've been seeing a more balanced mix of Kessoku band members in my notes which seems to suggest that the ecosystem is stablising...

The most fucked up bit of lore about Kemono Friends to me is how animal girls can literally be born from dead remains. Imagine being an animal who was dead for thousands of years only to suddenly come back with human sentience and now you’re wearing thigh highs

Actually tbh coming back from the dead with the most killer absolute territory is kind of a win ngl

Gravity legally cannot hurt you if you scream "NO GODS NO MASTERS" immediately before impact

I'm so fucking tired of this bicycle helmet discourse. Bike helmets aren't going to do shit to protect you if you get hit by a car

Most of the time... Bike accidents.... Involve things.... Other than cars...... like the ground....also it's safety gear..... Wearing it is non negotiable.... You are one accident away from being permanently disabled..... You need to protect your brain

For anyone capable of riding a bicycle it's just as dangerous as walking. You're going to wear a helmet when walking too?

Not a fan of anon's misuse of the word trigger, though

You know, several people have brought up that exact same thing as if it's an own, completely ignoring the fact that bikes are faster than walking, harder to balance, harder to catch yourself if you fall, and they raise you higher above the ground, so even a stationary fall to the left or right carries more angular momentum than falling while standing.

I'm almost curious if it comes from somewhere because it keeps getting repeated back to me in almost the exact same phrasing. Curious.

Also, they do make helmets for walking around when there's an increased risk of getting a TBI. They're called hard hats.

  1. I said someone capable of riding a bicycle. If you can't balance on one, you're not capable of riding it. And if someone's still learning I agree they should wear a helmet.
  2. As a Dutch person I've been cycling since I was young, so ymmv, but imo catching yourself falling off a bicycle is easier. There are only two directions you can fall in - left or right - and all you have to do to stop yourself is stick out your leg.
  3. Idk, I haven't heard it before myself.
  4. Regarding hard hats, that's exactly my point. We don't wear hard hats all the time only (quoting you) "when there's an increased risk of getting a TBI." Under regular circumstances we don't expect people to wear a helmet while walking, even though it's possible to stumble and hit your head on the concrete, so why should we when it comes to cycling on a non-electric bicycle under normal circumstances?
  5. Btw, you didn't accuse me of this, but it seems a common idea, so I want to be clear: I don't have a problem with safety regulations. I have a problem with treating bicycles as dangerous. It sounds like the fearmongering used in other countries to excuse not paving bicycle lanes. Forcing cyclists to share a space with cars is how people get killed.
