Protecting people who are seen as worthless in society - drug addicts, sex workers, homeless people etc - is absolutely central to antifascism because their destruction is central to fascism

Totally agreed, and I want to point out a key part of fascist logic: it is circular. They declare people "worthless," get the general population to agree that the worthless people aren't really human, and declare open season for killing these sub-humans. Then, they can slap the "worthless" label on anyone they like, and kill them with impunity.

Protect people who are seen as worthless, because you can never tell when you'll end up on that list.

Io esco

Oggi piove: sull'autocertificazione ci scrivo "La pioggia nel pineto".

Taci. Su le soglie

del bosco non odo

parole che dici

umane; ma odo

parole più nuove

che parlano gocciole e foglie

lontane.

Ascolta. Piove

dalle nuvole sparse.

...

Che dite me la fanno la multa, oppure capiscono?

I am American and I have never seen photos like this. I had no idea there are borders like this. Even though I LOVE the idea of open borders, I am staring at these pictures like “wait…people can just…walk across some stones or grass and BE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY??? and nobody stops them?? how does that WORK?!” So you can tell that my country’s propaganda has gotten to me by convincing me that this CAN’T work even though…it…obviously can. These pics just seem unreal to me. I’ve been taught my whole life that this can’t exist. In 27 years no one has ever sat me down and gone, look, here’s how it is elsewhere. It isn’t impossible at all.

This is all wonderful and good, but consider perspective here, consider the following picture:

You can probably sniff out with your intuition that this isn’t USA/Mexico, but would you believe me if I told you it involves a country that was listed twice above? Yes, that’s the border between Spain and Morocco (in an occupied port built under colonialism). It’s not as simple as it’s framed.

This is the USA and Canada:

Borders and border enforcement is xenophobic and racist at heart, from my perspective, and all the pretty pictures in the world can’t hide that ugly truth.
