Drew! - 26 - White gay cis dude (he/him) - Canadian - Pagan - Singer - Writer - Actor, apparently

Not *quite* the green I'd been aiming for, admittedly... But I'm pretty okay with this green. I'm *definitely* taking advantage of my theatre break to fuck around with my hair more. I think I'm going to keep it up once I'm back on stage, too -- just make sure I keep the cut itself fairly standard (or able to be made normal-looking), and dye it back to a normal colour for shows. It's probably a good thing that, despite being naturally blond, I look fairly natural with dark hair, since that'll probably cover weird colours more easily. I've always wanted crazy hair colours, and I loved being briefly blue in like 2016... So fuck it, I'm gonna keep having weird colours. It's fun, and it's *me*. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNWteZpnJxj/?igshid=1n7tidzl3vdoi

Date night with the boo. 💜 We're *both* celebrating new jobs this week, so there's plenty of cause to celebrate. Time to kick back our feet and watch a musical with a few drinks! https://www.instagram.com/p/CNO37BqnQyw/?igshid=1i2yqyreuu3j5

Okay, so what was the over/under on 'would Drew get through the first (partial) week of working without buying plants'? It was a productive lunch break. Especially since, clearly, I already knew what was available and had made my decisions... Anyway, it's only been three days and I already feel like I've been here for weeks. I'm obviously still learning constantly, but I'm already at the point of being constantly 'stolen' by different areas because I'm a super efficient worker and quick learner. I've made arrangements, answered customer questions, helped with receiving product, impressed people seemingly literally up to the owner of the company himself, and learned a ton already. I'm also exhausted, can't stand wearing a mask in a greenhouse for hours at a time (it is HOT), love literally all my coworkers so far, and best of all it so literally doesn't feel like work that I had a moment of disappointment that I wasn't going back tomorrow. I'm so friggin happy. I haven't been *this* excited about a new job probably literally ever. (at Colasanti's Tropical Gardens) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNLwi_hn-Fr/?igshid=1sg4ttf4hblpw

My partner just bought me these for my first day of work. If I cry a little, it's because I've never been bought flowers before (but secretly always hoped someone would). 😭 They're gorgeous. (Though I *will* admit that the irony of buying me cut flowers for starting to work at a garden centre isn't lost on me.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNG60yOn5tI/?igshid=1rh03mzp3zth3

Day 1 of my new job at @colasantis_tropical_gardens (I'm not freaking out a little typing that YOU'RE freaking out a little typing that)! I'm gonna be doing a whole slew of plant-related jobs -- basically, I'm getting to use my knowledge about plants, combine it with my love for them, and top it off with "wait, I'm getting *paid* to talk about this?" in a bunch of different ways. (Including likely sometimes being in the retail area with the plants there -- so if you see me, say hi!) The best part is that @book.wyrm1995 was laughing about how I was going to work with plants all day and then come home and work on my *OWN* plants... And that may or may not be exactly the plan... https://www.instagram.com/p/CNFXYN_HRa1/?igshid=sal2r8qhr13g

Interview chic. (I got the job -- I'm gonna be working with or talking about plants all day now! 💚 I start tomorrow morning, and can NOT wait ) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNEHBPNHXJW/?igshid=d48gv6pcb2zv

Freshening up the haircut. (Sort-of-mohawk-ish?) This dye is kinda interesting in that you apply it multiple times (you apply it like it's conditioner!) and the colour seems to be evolving as I do. It still isn't anywhere near the "mint green" listed on the bottle, but I'm liking the silvery-blue it seems to be settling on. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNA_pabnvtc/?igshid=1rbl79gbt6954

Went and drove around the county today... As in, drove to two garden centres, then took the scenic route so I could show off Essex county a bit. May have picked up a rather large stowaway en route. Shhh. https://www.instagram.com/p/CM-s76Xn8O0/?igshid=1rc82k3hq7ja6

Happy #WorldTheatreDay!! I miss the stage desperately, and I can NOT wait to get back performing again. Since moving to Windsor in mid-2017, I've completely fallen in love with the stage. I've been in two straight plays and six musicals between November 2017 and February 2020 -- so not only mostly back-to-back, but there were a couple times where rehearsals overlapped. Here's a picture from each of my Windsor shows, in order of performances: Lysistrata (Nov 2017) Company (Mar 2018) Fun Home (Sept 2018) Hunchback of Notre Dame (Dec 2018) Next to Normal (Mar 2019) Carrie (July 2019) Autopsy (Oct 2019) Shrek (Feb 2020) (at Windsor, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CM8gbhvn2lR/?igshid=1b7vjzjeska4t

I was lying on the couch... So *someone* decided to join me. Hobbes is gonna be so mad at me when I get home... https://www.instagram.com/p/CMvGcLYnpph/?igshid=1bo0sc6aoc8kw

Got some cuddle time with my partner's cat over the weekend. She's very attached to me 💜 https://www.instagram.com/p/CMvCb-ZHJq2/?igshid=qmg50dxdivmg

Well, it wasn't the mint green that it was supposed to be (how the hell "mint green" turns out blue is beyond me...) but now that I'm over the annoyance at it being the wrong colour, I'm pretty happy with my new hair! https://www.instagram.com/p/CMsw8i4n7st/?igshid=1d0gknayeidxg

I'm so in love with this cat. 🥺 https://www.instagram.com/p/CMR-QPFHrmK/?igshid=40hdsgrm39gv

So my partner's cat kinda loves me already. We were holding hands in bed and she just... *flop* https://www.instagram.com/p/CMRKPC4H3Zm/?igshid=jlhfbk8djf0b

I swear that Makenzie loves me, and is just meowing in the second picture... https://www.instagram.com/p/CL6LrhvHtOJ/?igshid=rjwpxxxth6r8

Despite still loving this shirt (from @motivationalmostly), it's not actually super accurate these days. I'm pretty happy most of the time, and I think I've been reeeeeeasonably stable so far in 2021. 🤞 The bad news: I pulled my shoulder in my sleep at the beginning of the month. (In my sleep.) It was bad enough that I went to a walk-in clinic to make sure I hadn't caused serious sleep-injury, and I got put on a strong NSAID painkiller and a muscle relaxant. I ended up losing almost a week to the drowsiness caused by the pills. Now, I'm back to largely just working to deal with chronic pain -- I don't talk about it much, but I'm literally always in some level of back pain from a car accident a decade ago. I usually stayed around a 2 on the pain scale. With the shoulder, I'd say about a 4 out of 10 at a minimum, these days. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ I'm gonna end up looking into physiotherapy soon, hopefully. Beyond that, my sleep pattern is non-existent as always, but I'm mostly doing pretty friggin great. Not a sad bitch in sight. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLjPfhbFjPb/?igshid=141j2var85x6q

A special someone asked me to dress up today. Honestly, felt kinda nice to! https://www.instagram.com/p/CLi2ilflunv/?igshid=qcfy0oswp3lf

#Hobbes in a box is hilarious scuttling along the floor... But he didn't want to with the camera on. So @jgurniak shook the treat bag... https://www.instagram.com/p/CLix2jlFhvh/?igshid=10iez15gjwicx

I need to show off my #bluelantern suit more often. Everyone knows about the Green Lanterns -- who use the force of willpower -- but there's a lantern corps for each colour of the rainbow (... At least, the way we usually separate it in North American English? I have no idea how universal 'ROYGBIV' is). Each one is powered by an emotion, and the idea is that while people tend to view the first half as evil and the rest as good (with green sometimes being neutral?), the further you get from the middle (green), the stronger and less stable the emotions get, and the more those emotions can control you. Yellow is the most *common* enemy seen and the most well-known, and generally the villains are red or yellow (orange is... a special case), but a Violet Lantern is just as potentially-unstable and dangerous as a red one, depending on the situation. (Indigo is *also* a special case, like Orange, but... In a completely different way. There's only (generally speaking) one Orange Lantern, Larfleeze, because the idea of sharing his powers is literally against the nature of *having* those powers. At one point Lex Luthor is an Orange Lantern but it's complicated. Indigo, though, isn't a ring you *accept*, it's literally *forced upon you* -- members of the Indigo Tribe are (presumably) all former horrible criminals who had compassion literally thrust upon them and are unable to remove it, it's ACTUALLY REALLY MESSED UP OKAY) Anyway, all of that is from memory and also I haven't read any of the Lantern comics since probably 2016 and possibly more like 2015, so there may be inaccuracies or things I don't explain super well, but REGARDLESS, here are the colours and what emotions guide/rule them (as the case may be): Red: Anger/Rage Orange: Avarice/Greed Yellow: Fear Green: Willpower Blue: Hope Indigo: Compassion Violet: Love (... This needed to be continued in the first comment, because *clearly* I am incapable of cutting rambling short.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKdoJb1FpIA/?igshid=a3jwwlk3cwx7

I had reason today to create a picture of myself without me in it (with the help of @book.wyrm1995). I think I did a pretty good job. 🤓 https://www.instagram.com/p/CKVS18DljQd/?igshid=11dewlp5jxgb2
