that episode where Aki tries to get her d-wheeling license is so sweet BUT it also made me remember that Yusei didn’t have a license when he got arrested… which means that either

  1. Godwin arranged a license for him before the Fortune Cup
  2. they made Yusei do a driving test at some point (before the FC? after the Dark Signers arc?)
  3. Yusei never actually got his license but nobody dares to bring it up

personally I prefer option 3 because it makes the episode so much funnier

Yusei does not have a license because if he did his official government file would not look like this:

#Crow and Jack have licenses but they're both forgeries#Yusei is against the government having any more information about him than they absolutely have to#*after his first duel with Kalin* "Yusei! You're bleeding out! What's your blood type?!?'#*looks down at gaping wound in his stomach* 'Red.'
