“I find it funny how I can forget my own life lessons. Like the time I turned my world upside down to shake out the toxicity of a friend. But a year later I was caught in the claws of someone again. And I still stayed because I was still afraid of the guilt of walking away. And if someone new knocked on my head tomorrow, I’d probably invite them in. Yeah, it’s true that I know better now. I swear I do. But knowing and doing are two very different things. So I know I write these poems about how to love yourself. But if that scares you, or you think you're not doing it, or need to do it more, just remember that I still forget to lock my door.”
