Kagemaru, had heard of a historical site under siege thorough the spread of rumors from traveling merchants. The locals who worked on the site as diggers, had stopped working at the location. From witness statements, the mortals from an archeological group, had uncovered a wealth of historical artifacts. They had done so in an area that the locals stigmatized as cursed land. Land once occupied by a warrior society.
Bodies were unearthed and remnants of a burial site were removed from the location.
The tribes in the area, had legends surrounding the glade. That the spirits of warriors, would rise up to defend their land if invaders came to steal the wealth of knowledge on how to invoke the power of bears. Berserkers, were a known set of warrior clans within Norwegian folklore.

What appears to be the work of angry and wrathful spirits, could be at play.
Pacing inside his tent while the sun slowly sets. The pale skinned man, flips through his notes.
Kagemaru slipped into the encampment of the scientist hours earlier. When the first shift changed to the night shift security.
The four main people that Shisui had encountered earlier that day were two archeologists and two security officers. As he was the sixth one, this implies there was another member to this scientific group. The fifth one, being Kagemaru. An unusual man in his mid-fifties, who had come from Japan as well. He arrived a day before Shisui was called out.
Unlike Shisui he was a scientist first and a vampire second. Taking the night shift from the main crew, gave him the excuse for why he wasn't around during the daylight hours.
It did not give him a reason for why all the electronics of the area had ceased to function properly since the morning before Kagemaru arrived.
The air becomes thick and heavy with the scent of decay as the sun settles across the horizon. The night air whips up the mists of the past. As the cool air seeps from underground and hits the warmer air, a thick fog erupts and rolls across the dig site.
After the sun had set, he slips outside of his tent. The scent of a wolf upon his nostrils. Crinkling his nose to the odor and rubbing his left temple. Taking the notebook from his tent he sets it down upon a table. He does his bets to try and ignore the other non-mortal. Speaking to Dr. Angus as he asks about the local lore.
" In the past this area was utilized in ceremonies for invoking the strength of bears. Which we already have discovered from the first half of the dig’s analysis. However my concern in this is that some of the locals have taken this folklore curse too far and started to.."
"Are you implying that the locals are responsible for the missing crew and workers? Like they think they are these Bear-clan warriors?" The balding dark skinned man rubs his temples.
No, I was going to say that your interference in burial rites have awakened the Draugar in the area. However sure, we can assume the locals are the ones doing this. I just didn’t say how far back said locals were, within functioning mortal society.
"Well it wouldn't be the first time that the locals found our digs to be sacrilegious or even tried to put a stop to the study of the area." He sighs.
"If this is true, we can easily put up fences around the area. At least until the authorities handle the situation better. If you'll excuse me. The sun has set and the company is now regulating the hours we have to function on the site. Due to the hazards. But We can talk at dawn." The younger man pinches the bridge of his nose.
"Dr. Kagemaru. Thank you for your expertise in folklore and the mythological aspect. It helps aid us in seeking out answers for these incidents." The man takes the notebook off the table and walks back towards the van, where the other two workers were getting ready to head back to their hotels.
"I'll maintain watch over the site while you are gone. As it seems the company has sent some more security for the night shift." He glares at the wolf before him, through half closed eyes.
