Revolutionary Girl Utena: Complete Triggers Guide
(repost from old blog)
Revolutionary Girl Utena (Shoujo Kakumei Utena) is a 1997 anime directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara. Utena Tenjou is an eighth-grade girl who wishes to become a prince, and because of it gets caught up in a strange dueling game played by her fellow middle- and high-schoolers. As Utena fights to protect – and befriend – Anthy Himemiya, her shy classmate but also the mysterious Rose Bride at the center of the duels, the stakes become higher and the game more dangerous.
Utena is an amazing and very worthwhile anime, but it is also an extremely intense and disturbing one. I love the show, but it is irresponsible to recommend it to people without a warning about the subject matter. I believe Utena has the potential to be be very cathartic and comforting for people, especially lgbt women, who’ve experienced trauma, but also very dangerous with regard to triggers. I’ve put together this guide so that people curious about the show can be forewarned and watch it in safety, or choose not to if they deem it too disturbing.
[Masterpost] SERVAMP Anniversary Drama CD Translations
Happy 10th Anniversary to SERVAMP!!
Well, it might be a little too late for me to be saying that now, but nevertheless, happy 10 years to this series! We’ve definitely gone on a lot of adventures with them, and here’s to another 10 years of fun, chaotic moments!
They sure have shown more of their serious sides in the first five tracks, but as per SERVAMP tradition (?) the last track is just full of chaotic goodness! I will warn though that the last track (Track 6) is very long…! A full 31 minutes of audio drama. Please be prepared to read a whooping 21 pages of dialogue… 😅
Thank you so much to @faith-gigliorosa for sharing and for requesting me to work on them! I had so much fun (and undoubtedly tears) while working on them~!
For those who want to buy the CD to support the series, it’s available for purchase here and here! I now know I’m definitely getting a copy after listening to everything!
Masterpost, notes, and short troubleshooting guide under the cut, enjoy~!

Hi! Maybe it's a dumb question, but is the Land of Nod canon? Like, for example, when it comes to event or is it like examples of how a character would react in certain situations? Thanks in advance :)
Hello! The programming, art and writing of the events are all done by tanaka strike, so (personally) character-wise I'd treat it as "canon" as the Sleepy of Life mangas or the drama CDs.
Maybe less so when it comes to events since there's dating sims, time loop shenanigans and meta self-awareness that they're inside a game (well tbf the drama CDs are SLS mangas do that too).
how do you reconcile with liking morally imprehensible content and problematic media?
i dont reconcile w anything bc i dont give a shit thanks for sending me this batshit ask tho
the Book of Nod
My copy of the Book of Nod; the official guide book for the game, finally came in the mail today (you can purchase a copy from animate here). The book comes with an omake that lets you claim the item “the Book of Nod”.
Sample of the artbook, the bonus clear file, and the Animate-only artbook storage box!
The sketch of the SERVAMP artbook cover: “Strike Zone”, that will be released on 27 June 2016! XD Below is the cover for the special Animate bonus, Artbook Box, which is the color cover from past SERVAMP chapter!
[SCANLATION!] Sleepy Life of SERVAMP 1
By a stroke of miracles, I managed to fix my laptop, yay~! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) And so, we (Hatmirror and I) can finally present you the scanlation of “Sleepy Life of SERVAMP (SLS) 1”!
There are many things happening this time when I tried to scanlate this: laptop breakdown, overwritten Photoshop files that made me have to redo some pages, typesetting oversights where I have to change all the capital “I” due to the font having two different types of “I”, lots and lots of re-reading to proofread for typos, lots and lots of revisions since I kept on seeing typos after typos, uploading problems, and so on and so forth…..
Now, I don’t want to beg….. but things have been tough in real life - so if you could take a moment to like and reblog this (and perhaps comment and tell me what you think about the scanlation), that would really lift up my spirits and perhaps hasten me in continuing with the next scanlations in a timely manner. :’-)
Thank you very much. OTL
A running theme within the Forger Family is that while Loid fully understands that his Family is a front. Yor over time tends to forget that her marriage and family are fake.
This particular moment sticks out with me because Yor looks Loid dead in the eyes immediately after he reassured her that she’s doing fine as a mother and said “I’m really glad I married you Loid.”
No mention of “as part of our arrangement” or “because I can continue my contract killing job.” just Yor telling Loid that she’s genuinely happy and fortunate that she got so lucky to marry someone as understanding and endearing as Loid.
During the Bond Introduction Arc, when Anya read Bond’s mind of him seeing the future, this panel perfectly describes how Yor would feel if Loid suddenly died and left them both alone.
Throughout the Manga the lines between real and fake blur for Yor just as quickly as it did for Loid.
When the Cruise Arc happens and Olka asks if Yor’s family is just a cover for her real job, it’s a harsh reminder to her that they still are a fake family. Yor completely forgot that she’s with them out of circumstances and you can see the hurt and sorrow in her eyes of that reminder
But as long as she is able to go home to Loid and her family, then who cares if her marriage and family is fake? Who cares if she has to drop thousands of bodies? As long as Yor can keep them safe from her line of work and go home to them, that’s all that matters.
Yor has always loved that Loid is always supportive of her in what she does since the very beginning, she always looks to him for approval, support and comfort. Yor’s motivations as an Assassin are so similar to Loid’s motivations as a Spy that it allows her to do what she does with no regrets and she knows Loid would understand and respect her decisions at the end of the day because as she puts it:
sorry i do really like concept art miguel who looks depressed as fuck im slotting him earlier on the timeline
