Annihilation is fundamentally different in terms of just about everythng but visuals and some specific themes from the text on which its based but it’s such a good movie. I don’t love it as an adaptation of one of my favorite books in the way I usually think about adaptations, but I love it as a new story that utilizes aspects of this book and uses them to craft something a bit different...
The southern reach trilogy inspires me a lot to make original stories I should read it again.
When I look at my hands and my fingerprints, I can see them moving. If I let you go, and you tied me to a chair and cut me open, are my insides gonna move like my fingerprints?
