"It doesn’t matter whether my father believes it or not. I… am a wizard. If my father puts my husband to trial… I will use all possible means to retaliate against it.”

BITCH YES! YES BEESH!! GO OFF, MILADY!!!! AAAAAAAAA

chloe gong really just said “enemies to lovers is about looking someone in the eye and knowing all the darkest parts of them and knowing they know all the darkest parts of you and having a mutual respect and admiration for the other but being too unwilling to admit it and walking away because you love them too much to hurt them but not enough to give up your world for them and hoping that they find someone they deserve in the end” and expected me to walk away okay

One of my favorite things about history is how little bits of it are preserved through traditions and mythology and we don’t even notice it. Like how we still say “’Tis the season” at Christmastime. Who says ‘tis anymore? No one, it’s dead except in this tiny phrase. I had a friend once tell me that she noticed the only group of people who could consistently identify a spinning wheel were girls between the ages of 4 and 7. Why? Sleeping Beauty. There are little linguistic quirks that have been around for centuries, bits of slang we use that people 400 years ago would recognize, but unless you showed someone a 400 year old dictionary, they’d never believe it. Whispers of the past are always there.

How do I have more confidence in myself ?

  • Practice acceptance. The way you are is enough. Everything about you is as it is meant to be, and therefore you really need to accept every part of you, instead of hating the features you do not like. Accept even the little things that make you feel insecure, no matter if it is body-related or character-related. Every single thing contributes to the person you are. And you are amazing and one of a kind, so accept yourself for everything that you are.
  • Stop negative self talk. Stop talking yourself down in front of others, stop calling yourself ugly, worthless, stupid etc. and stop your mind from putting yourself down. The way you speak about and to yourself matters and if you actively try to change negative self talk to positive affirmations, which you should repeat over and over again, you will definitely notice a huge difference within a short time.
  • Do things that scare you. Facing your fears is what will make you grow. If you are anxious and scared of certain situations, do not run away from them; instead go ahead and face them. Over and over again. The more you do not hide from what scares you, the more confidence you will gain. You will see how capable you are and you will know that you are able to handle everything life throws in your way.
  • Communicate. Be open about the way you feel. Be honest. Always express what you really feel. Stop hiding your emotions in order to avoid conflict in any way. Express your thoughts and feelings. This will help you understand who you really are and therefore connect you to your true self. Also, it will help you develop self-respect, which is absolutely important.
  • Step out of your comfort zone. Explore yourself. Never stop trying out new things. Start living your life, instead of hiding behind your fears. Also, do not be afraid to do things on your own; it is not weird at all, it will really boost the relationship you have with yourself.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. You are a unique human being with a unique story; it does not make any sense to compare your unique life to another unique life; just as it does not make any sense to compare one flower to another, for they both bloom equally beautifully.
  • Prioritisze yourself. You are the most important person in your life, so please put your needs first. Stop doing things you do not want to do and practice saying no to people and things that are toxic. Stand up for yourself and defend your right to unapologetically be yourself, for you should never feel obligated to justify anything that you do with your own life.

SELF-REFLECTION SPREAD

I mostly use tarot as a tool for personal introspection. Even people who don’t believe in divination of any kind can use tarot as an aid to explore different perspectives to a situation or even their own psyche. These are some things which I believe I need to confront about myself before achieving any real personal growth.

1. FIXATE

What are the parts of yourself or your life that you tend to get hung up about. Confronting yourself can be good, but overly obsessing on a particular problem or aspect of yourself can inhibit growth.

2. IGNORE

Conversely, what do you tend to push to the side. This can go both ways: some are unable to see the good things in themselves or their lives, while others gloss over their faults and avoid addressing their problems.

3. FALSE

What are the things we think to be true about ourselves, or our lives that are not. These are often negative qualities, a lot of people think they are less capable, less deserving or less worthy than they really are.

4. DECIPHER

What about ourselves have we yet to understand. Everyone has some things about themselves which they don’t yet fully grasp or cannot quite put to words.

5. WANT

What do we most want from ourselves and our lives. The things we wish were more true about ourselves or that we aspire to be. This is a long process to achieve, and part of that is learning that we can’t just skip to this step, we need to deal with the other parts of ourselves too, including the undesirable parts, before we can achieve true personal growth.

Note: Tarot is not a substitute for professional counselling and other forms of licensed therapy! Feel free to use it as a complimentary practice (unless otherwise advised), but do not rely on it as your sole means of treatment if you believe you need professional counselling.

Put fuel in the tank and start the engine: Great ideas cannot be executed in the beginning of the project, there is always going to be a period of “ugly.” It is important to fill your tank with great brainstorming ideas and then pick a direction and start the engine.

A quote that stuck out to me was: “Always the more beautiful answer who ask the more beautiful question.” We have talked about how to ask the right questions all term and I just wanted to have this as a constant reminder to put a lot of time and thought into what questions I should be asking.

Another quote that stuck out to me was: “Inspire the people who are given the task of solving the problem.” This is important because sometimes there can be a period in the creation process where inspiration and motivation get lost so I want to remind myself to always be the one on the time that is constantly bringing energy and a positive attitude. I always think about now I not only want to inspire my team and the people around me, but I want to be an inspiration to my younger self. Would the 12 year old Riley be inspired by the current me?

Where does success come from?: It comes from practice, instruction, training, and learning. You will fail 100 times but it is always worth the 1 success.

This week we took over the Vegan brief, to be honest this was the one group I did not want but now I am so glad we did. It has inspired me to think outside my comfort zone. No one close to be is Vegan so I have has to do some research and I have learned a lot about a group I normally would stereotype.

These 3 cards all have a vine connecting them because all the ideas are connected. The problem we would like to solve is helping their fresh fruits and vegetables to last longer. Which path will we take? We have come up with a lot of ideas and so the decision now is which idea are we the most passionate about?

Do NOT be afraid! This term has truly been filled with my happiest and saddest moments. I have made friends to last a life time and I have also lost some of my best friends and family. I have been trying to plan my future and it has been a lot of pressure on my plate, I have a lot of ideas about what I could do but there is always a slight doubt in myself. My dad called me during this week out of the blue and he said I don’t know why I feel you need to hear this right now but I want to let you know Do not be afraid. It was super weird because that is exactly what I needed to hear at this time. Not only does “do not be afraid” apply to my life outside the classroom but it also applies to this project. I want to inspire my team not to be afraid to be creative and not be afraid to think outside the box, even if it may sound crazy. Crazy sells!

That’s St. Christopher. The patron saint of travelers. That’s a nice thought. Someone carrying us on our journey. Someone watching over us.

The things we do to be held

The things we do to be held

Held emotionally, spiritually and physically

Very similar to trying to be accepted by everyone and everything

The things we do to be held to escape our own emptiness

But there’s no escaping

Just life lessons, ebbs and flows, love and separation

Nothing is meant to last forever

& if growth is constant, isn’t it safe to say that there will be several occasions when we outgrow people and situations?

The things we do to feel seen, only to not see ourselves, to hate the reflection in the mirror but smile when someone compliments us

Why do we place so much energy into being liked by others who are likely struggling to like themselves?

It’s a waste of energy; of life, to place the fate of our happiness in the control of others

Why are we so pressed to have acceptance from the people and situations which are only extensions of who we are but not even close to mirroring the entirety of who we came here to be?

There is only one you. Be that wholeheartedly.

The things we do to be held

It just feels so good to be spooned next to your lover, assured that you won’t have to go to bed alone with no one to love…on…you…

The spirit of an abuser will always live through you.

& if another comes along, feeding you promises and love speeches and compliment on compliments, you will see right thru it all

We all seek validation to affirm that we are telling ourselves the truth. But the truth could never be outside of you. It is always found within. The truth of who you are, what you believe, your deepest desires, your hidden pains…

These are the stories that only you know to be true or untrue

The things we do to be held

So what does life actually look like when self-fulfilling prophecies like “needing” to be held are replaced by the action of holding one’s self accountable?

  • It looks like being kind to yourself and extending grace for the ways you are still flourishing
  • It means trusting and being guided by the voice within rather than succumbing to the outside noise
  • It means loving, honoring, and valuing yourself before expecting this from the world

Needing to be held isn’t a bad thing. It’s a natural need to be seen, loved, heard and desired. It’s in our nature to want to feel connected.

However, It is only from the space of holding ourselves that we are able to evolve into our greatest version, thus attracting the people and situations that align with our core values.

The things we do to be held

It’s exhausting to constantly yearn for what we are unwilling to first gift ourselves

I dedicate the next decade of life to living more for myself and to expand in ways that nourish my soul self, the people around me and the environment.

No more survival mentality.

Thriving is on my heart.

The things we do to be held

Things I’m leaving in 2017:

  • Self hate
  • Self pity
  • Negative thoughts about my body
  • Negative thoughts about myself
  • Doubts about my friends and family

Reblog and add to the list!

You’re going away soon. I know that as we sit outside in the clean cut summer grass and you mutter to yourself that in Hawaii you can see the stars, in Hawaii the naked eye can breach the universe. You say that getting farther from our city is getting closer to divinity.

This is how you break my heart.

I tell you: one day, many lives from now, with people who no longer look like us, who no longer talk like us, all the stars will be too far apart to see. The sky will be a blank and ancient blackness from here to Beijing (the farthest place I can think of) and when the people look back they’ll say we were liars. We were liars to ever claim there were silver balls of fiery light beyond the horizon.

Their truth will be that very moment, and nothing else. Their truth will be that there were never any stars to begin with, because who can live with the burden of such loss? They will be all but ghostly memories held only in pictures from the past. Pictures are liars too.

The summer smells like cut grass and nothing else, you reach for my hand. That’s not true, you say, galaxies keep their stars like fireflies trapped in glass jars. The Milky Way is glued to itself, the stars within our little neighborhood are connected without fading, chasing each other without leaving.

You kiss my cheek. The stars aren’t going anywhere.

This is how you break my heart. But I’m still smiling as the summer grass stains my pants and this is how we stay there together, together like that, trying to memorize the constellations and learning how to lose something without forsaking it.
