Some of Van Gogh’s best work was done during a period of his life that he spent in a hospital being treated for his mental health problems. I could be wrong but I think Starry Night was among those.

This is consistently the case. Creators tend to do their best work when they are in a healthy place and receiving proper treatment and not being self destructive in their efforts to cope. Go figure.

All our experiences, good and bad, inform what we create, but suffering is not the price of great art. Suffering is what prevents artists from completing great art.

me, as i change my life after taking anti-depressants: what if i can’t write??? me, as i put everything together: living, it turns out, works out well for writing.

I'm generally of the opinion that trying to resurrect prematurely cancelled shows is like necromancy—odds are they'll come back wrong.

Except for Galavant. Any Galavant revivial will be funnier the longer it stayed cancelled.

Tags pass peer review, etc, because they SO perfectly capture the spirit of the show.

Hi! Sorry if you've been asked this before, but have you read the All For The Game series? I just finished The Girls I've Been last night and I noticed so many parallels between that series and the books. I was wondering if it was just a fun coincidence or cool Easter eggs scattered throughout. Either way, I LOVED the book and kept recommending it to people today. Thank you!

I am not familiar with this series. I will have to look it up! I've mentioned in other places, TGIB's main influences were the early 2000's comedy HEARTBREAKERS (this is where the idea of a con artist's daughter, but with a very dark twist, came from) and the TV show Burn Notice (I like how there's fourth wall breakage in Burn Notice). There is a slight nod to Leverage in the book and Nora's name comes from the "old movie" she watches with Lee in the hotel scene (Nora Charles from "The Thin Man"), but I think that's it for actual media easter eggs. Coincidences are so funny sometimes. Apparently there's also another evil Mayor Prentiss in a different YA series, too!
