resolutions for 2016

Be kinder with your actions. Stop starting drama and talking shit. You’ll get more done when you stop worrying about your fake friends and start letting the real ones take care of you. Understand the weight of your words. Understand the way a few words strung together can make a person’s day. Understand the way an offhanded comment may inspire someone. Use this to better the world. Dress better. You have a closet full of clothes. You like feeling pretty. Put away the leggings and the tees. You are better than that. Dress how you want people to see you. Dress how you want to see yourself. Eat healthier. Not to lose weight, you’re not worried about that anymore. Snack on carrots instead of chips. Eat so your body isn’t full of junk, so it can work to the best of its ability.

Keep a journal. Maybe one of those bullet journals, maybe a diary, maybe an agenda. Write a little bit everyday. Write about your day. Organize your thoughts. Put yourself down on paper, it’ll be nice to look through it at the end of the year.

Take your dreams more seriously. All of the procrastination, the laziness, will stop when you see how desperately you want to achieve your goals. A little hard work everyday, you’ll end up with everything you’ve ever wanted.

Wake up earlier. Stretch your arms and open up your tired soul. The world is quiet. Nature is alive. Watch the world wake up. Watch the sunrise, and eat a filling breakfast.  Another day, another chance.

Forgive. For god’s sake, forgive yourself and forgive others. You spent 2015 full of self-hatred and grudges. Forgive mistakes and learn to heal. People screw up, but not everyone has bad intentions. Keep the ones with a good heart close to you.

Learn how to take care of yourself a little bit more. Learn how to cook, at least a little. Figure out how to pay taxes and bills and how to fix broken things. You might be alone one day, and this is okay. You will manage, you always do.

Destroy this idea of a “comfort zone.” The things that scare you are going to help you grow the most. Learn to adapt to situations. You can do anything, anything you’d ever want to. The world is at your feet, and it is yours to conquer. Don’t hope for a good year, make it a good year.
