Reblog this if your preferred Commander Shepard was Female

Please don’t like and reblog this post, or reblog it twice. That way I can get an accurate number.

Master Post is here.

Mass Effect 1: Use your Alliance friends to defeat the Reapers
Mass Effect 2: Use your Cerberus friends to defeat the Reapers
Mass Effect 3: Use all of your friends to defeat the Reapers
Mass Effect Andromeda: Just leave. Just fkn leave the galaxy

tbh i’m here for my boys too, like i’m here for every boy who cried alone, wiping away tears quickly and guiltily, because crying wasn’t “manly”, i’m here for fat boys, skinny boys, boys who rejects hyper-masculinity and are shamed for it, i’m here for every boy who was laughed at in the locker rooms, every boy who loves lipstick and mascara, and every black or brown boy who is afraid to walk home at night because of violence that may come from anywhere in society but is always targeted at him, i’m here for every boy who was told they weren’t boys, i’m here for every conflicted boy who must choose between what he believes is right and what he was raised with, i’m here for every boy who was manipulated by this twisted patriarchy we all exist in and is trying in some way to make things right.

A Chicago police officer was caught on surveillance allegedly punching a pregnant woman in the stomach before blurting out racist remarks.

The pregnant woman claims she was an innocent bystander in the 5100 block of West Washington, as she watched the police officer chasing a suspected drug dealer at around 5:30that Friday. She and others laughed after the plain clothed police officer was too slow to catch him and the suspect got away. This infuriated the officer to the point of no return.

TIME TO GET MADDD

So where are all the pro life folks? Y'all gonna come on and demand this man be fired? Or do we not care about Black children in the womb, the place y'all claim is the most dangerous place to be in this world?

@blue lives matter folks, Do you understand how terrifying this is?  The police officer’s life was not in danger, no one attacked him, he was not physically threatened nor endangered; a woman laughed at him and he abused his authority and attacked her.  Officers are not here to protect anybody; they are here to bully.  If you have to be subservient, submissive, and demure to a police officer to avoid being physically attacked or killed, then we are allowing a police state to be created.  And if they start with the POCs, they’ll work their way up to whites.  Promise.

About ‘About Ray’

So for those of you who’ve missed it, a trailer was recently released for the film ‘About Ray’, a story about a transgender teenage boy and how his parents and family deal with his transition.

Personally, I was really excited about it, transgender people are so starved for representation, and this is a really important story. However, lots of people are really frustrated about the casting choice to once again put a cis girl in the role of a transgender boy. For those who don’t understand why, here are some articles for you, or the cliff notes:

  • It steals opportunities from trans actors, who have a hard enough time breaking into the industry as it is.
  • Transgender people want the opportunity to tell our own stories, it’s not acceptable for cis people to talk over us about issues that don’t affect them.
  • It reinforces the idea that trans boys are actually girls trying to be boys, and trans women are really men dressing up as women etc.
  • Transgender people want it to stop. It’s not up to cis people to decide what’s transphobic and what isn’t - if you’re an ally, listen to the people you claim to be allies for.

And the Director’s response to this frustration and outrage only makes me more skeptical about whether to see this film. I quote:

The part is a girl and she is a girl who is presenting in a very ineffectual way as a boy,” Dellal says.
“She’s not pretending to have a deeper voice. She’s just a girl who is being herself and is chasing the opportunity to start hormone treatment. So to actually use a trans boy was not an option because this isn’t what my story is about.

Which is essentially cis-person talk for “I am transphobic and I’ve got absolutely no clue what it means to be transgender but I’m making a film about it anyway”.

So you can take from this what you will - it’s up to you whether you see the film or not, and whether you do so legitimately (thus supporting those involved and the industry), or illegally (thus circumventing financially supporting this transphobic director).

also the director literally refers to the character as a “girl” and misgenders him do cis people really have that fucking hard of a time seeing why that is transphobic lol

Shepard: I can't find Garrus.
Shepard: *cups hands by mouth and yells* SHEPARD SUCKS AND DOESN'T-- is that a sniper laser on my chest

imo the most heartbreaking moment in the mass effect series is at the end of mass effect 3 when shepard and anderson are in the citadel staring at earth and hackett contacts shepard telling her nothing happened and straight away shes like ‘what do you need me to do’

like shes covered in blood shes literally given up her life for this and even on the cusp of death shes so eager to serve. it just breaks my heart i cry every time

oh god this. it kills me every time because she’s finally, FINALLY in a place where she can just sit and be still (and bleed) after all the chaos of the entire game, anderson is dead, shepard is d-o-n-e DONE. Finished. Reserves are gone. And yet when Hackett calls, she manages to dig down just a little bit deeper and find more of herself to give.
