Greetings to you, intrepid internet travellers, seekers of healing, and story enthusiasts. I hope you are doing well. It seems you have found my little digital apothecary of art, which has just opened for perusal. Would you like some tea? A tincture or tonic, perhaps? I will be displaying some offerings that will do you good.

Be forewarned of the following:

-Do NOT repost, edit, alter, or redistribute my art. If you would like to repost something to a specific fandom blog you may ask permission and we will discuss it but otherwise this is the only place you should see it. If you spot any art theft I would appreciate if you alert me. Reblogs, however, are welcome.

-I’m doing this for enjoyment and celebration so please no constructive criticism. I already know I need practice and am always learning.

-I produce slowly and erratically. Be patient with me. Additionally, I will be doing both fandom and original art so I won’t be sticking to any one thing. I hope you see something you like!

-This is purely an art blog and not a personal one so it is only going to be my creations. I won’t be reblogging anything here or participating in games. But feel free to follow (I’d love it if you do) and I do not mind chatting if you have something to say! I’m not the sort of beastie that bites.

Behold, not only do I live but I have painted my first original work! I am aware that those followers I have been lucky to gain are here for my fan art, and I do intend to produce more of that. But I wish to intersperse with original work as much as I can. I am on a journey of self-discovery and growth! Please support me along the way. Hello hello, lovely people! I return! I have been working long and hard on this piece as it is the most ambitious of my paintings and honors three things. One look at my portfolio will tell you how I feel about spooky season. And though I carry the entire story of MDZS and CQL close to my heart, Wei Wuxian is one of the characters I love most fiercely (as evidenced by how often I paint/sketch him). As for the last, I can't believe that I have been painting for an entire year! While I have not come as far as I hoped I am grateful for my journey. A year ago I had never painted before and certainly did not expect I would share my art publicly. It has taken courage and patience but been worth the effort. Thank you all for your support! Hello again lovely people! I swear I am going to finish something with the quality and time investment of my older work one of these days. But not yet. It has been some time since I painted Zhou Zishu and though I have an original idea in the back of my head I ended up with another rough screencap copy because it is easy and relaxing. I love his defiance here and how intimidating he is despite being tortured, and the scene is somewhat gruesome which as a horror fan is my taste. Though I feel a little guilty for always treating him poorly so perhaps next time I should paint something happier... We shall see. All said, I hope you enjoy!

Hello lovely people! Nothing significant this time, I am afraid. This was a quick messy sketch done to help retrain my brain in drawing something ‘on paper' (digitally), as my previous graphics tablet was the blank-faced sort where you must look at a separate screen as you work and cannot connect your hand to the art. Can you tell how rusty I am? The same can be said for charcoal and conte, I haven't done this in years! It was fun to rediscover the art of it, as it is rather different from painting in colour. I will continue practicing and master my new tablet. I hope you enjoy the first attempt!

Hello again lovely people! If you think that this piece looks familiar that is because I posted another version of it earlier this year. This is actually the original version. I was so tired at the time that I accidentally posted the wrong one and in my resignation and embarrassment decided it must be fate. However, the lack of one element in the public version has always bothered me and I deliberated now and again whether to share how it was originally conceived. In light of time passing and considering my ambitions for the future I decided that now is a good time to correct the mistake. I would like to put my best foot forward, so to speak. Hello, lovely people! I promised something bigger and I will deliver it in time, but right now I find myself still struggling with ambitious pieces. Thus, I thought it time to paint (ink?) a Hanguang-jun to partner my Yiling Laozu comic-style portrait. I am still trying to develop my skill with the less realistic style (which is a learning curve because my fingers want to blend and detail!) so you can look forward to more of these in the future. Hello again, lovely people! I’m working on something exciting currently but I have been doing this 'speed painting' on the side. Speed for me, that is, which I would describe as the pace of an eager tortoise in sight of lettuce. I think this took roughly six hours? I attempted to tidy the smoothness of the lines but the minor tremor in my hands just does not cooperate well with long undulating sweeps. Ah, well, I’m not too bothered! It's been a small low-pressure piece I bring out when I am too fatigued to work seriously but feel artistically restless. I just find this image captivating and could not get it out of my head until I painted it. So please enjoy white-haired WKX!

I present a new piece from a fandom I have not worked in before! I am deeming it done even though I should work on it more, as despite being busy and burnt out I have elected to be forgiving of myself in whatever quality I produce. That is the learning experience I am taking from this one. It was a joy to paint and to reflect on as I did. I hope you enjoy him!

Hello lovely people! I am back and bring with me a treat. I spent May working on a couple of other things that I have temporarily set aside in favor of this. I could not pass Pride Month without doing something specifically suited to it and have hurried the piece into the world. (It’s a little rough as consequence.) It took me a few days to decide what to paint, as I debated and cycled through the beginnings of several works. In the end I found myself flicking through some of the photos I have saved and was suddenly inspired. It was certainly a weird adventure as I have never done full body before--- they do not tell you how it is simultaneously so big and so small! But worth the uncertainty in the end! I hope you enjoy this celebration of our dear characters and their representation for the LGBTQA+ community. Have a safe and joyful Pride Month!

Hello once more, lovely people! I present to you something slightly different. I have no intention of giving up my preferred style of realism but I was curious to expand my skills and try a new style. An experimental sort-of Yiling Laozu (is it WWX? is it BTS with a spooky frame? who knows, I just threw caution to the wind and went with it) in ink. I appreciate that this style is MUCH faster as my usual work takes between 50 to 120 hours and I did this in about fifteen. The trade off being it was challenging to restrain my inclination to detail and also make it smooth and consistent. It could be cleaner but I find it decent for a first try. I had fun and really like the finished product! I hope you enjoy this piece as well!

Hello again lovely people! It was not on my schedule to come back to WOH so soon but I was determined to do something for the anniversary of the series ending. (Which Wikipedia gave me the wrong date for, so I am quite late.) Naturally for that anniversary it had to be something romantic and complicated. I wish the quality was better but this was an important bit of growth, being a piece which had no reference for Wenzhou other than looking at various photos to remind me of the shapes of their faces and also the first time since I was a child that I’ve done an animal. With a proper background and frame too! Regardless of my doubt in the end result, I’m proud that I finished it by my deadline despite real life complications. And I am always excited to take steps in my art progression. Above all, I got to celebrate their love and that is what matters most! I hope you enjoy them! Hello lovely people. I return after a long hiatus! To my great sadness I had to take a break and was unable to start regularly painting again until late February. But despite that struggle I have spent as much time I was able to doing what I love for whom I love, which is always a worthy investment. I am proud that this one was out of my comfort zone--- I used no single reference, freewheeled the clothing and hair, and fought with that accursed transparent fan. Whew! I feel as if I have definitely leveled up! I am particularly excited to share this piece as consequence. I hope that you enjoy the duality of man--- ahem I mean Wen Kexing--- as much as I have. Hello again, lovely people! I return! Today I bring you a Wen Ning (a bit metaphorical, as usual). I was originally working on another piece but found that it was not sparking joy, so I placed it gently on the shelf and decided to do one for another character very dear to me. And I painted him faster than I have ever worked before! Which is exciting because the colors were difficult to work with, I probably should have chosen a different palette than the cyan-tinted-moonlit-corpse look. The heart was left intentionally a little vague and cartoonish because I didn’t want it to be overly gory. I hope that you enjoy him!

Greetings, lovely people! I hope you enjoy this piece as my first foray into the SHL fandom with more to come in time. I’m not happy with it but I was beginning to feel like I was willing to take the nails to be free of my own perfectionism. That being said, it was a relief to do this style as my passion has always been headshot portraits. I love him and he deserves the best. Which is obviously why this painting is even larger than my last and not suitable for the Tumblr medium...
