i was listening to heathens, and as we all know, tyler alluded to guns for hands:

“just because we checked our guns at the door, doesn’t mean our brains will change from hand grenades”

i didn’t pay too much attention to it, i just thought “oh yeah guns for hands” but it makes a lot more sense the more i think about the lyrics and the message we think tyler is trying to get across.

“it’s obviously best to for them to turn their guns to a fist”

a fist looks a lot like a grenade… a hand grenade.

in guns for hands, the gun in mention is a tool meant to hurt one’s self. in heathens, the hand grenade in mention is a tool meant to hurt many others.

the whole point of heathens is to warn us what we’re capable of now that we turned our guns to a fist. 

let’s put our fists down.
