i found a thing that had a lot of reviews and a 4 star rating and fakespot caught me before i bought it

you can review things on amazon, walmart, best buy, yelp, steam, sephora, and tripadvisor.

while i do sometimes use fakespot in conjunction, i highly recommend using reviewmeta instead

no matter what algorithms used, its bound to make mistakes and flag ordinary things as suspicous, so being able to look at these things helps give the user a better idea of whats going on

fakespot doesnt really give you that information, whereas reviewmeta is completely transparent and lays out the data to let you determine whether somethings really suspicious or not. this blog post goes more into detail on that

Please don’t tag me in that post about spiders and scorpions cross breeding in the wild to create hybrids. I have that blog blocked for a reason.

Pretty much nothing in the post is true or makes sense. The photos of the “hybrids” are various arachnids like camel spiders, pseudoscorpions, and perfectly natural spider species that happen to have long tail-like abdomens.

Despite both being arachnids, scorpions and spiders are not particularly closely related. They diverged as separate groups 400 million years ago. Also they have quite different methods of reproduction. Scorpions even give birth to live young. They cannot mate with each other and have no reason to.

I honestly have no idea if the post was meant as a joke, but people are 100% believing it. Spreading disinformation that makes people even more afraid of bugs is not a nice thing to do.

This isn’t meant to shame people who have tagged me in it by any means! The post was peppered with source links (none about hybrids, though) and I don’t blame people who don’t know a ton about bugs for believing it.
