Star Trek TNG Early Writer's Bible
- Picard and Riker have a father/son relationship
- After them, TROI is the most important character (!) who is used on almost every away mission, and starts out with Bridge Officer training
- Geordi “wants to be Captain Picard when he grows up” and teaches at the onboard school
- Beverly has a VERY female form (whoever wrote this is big into “very female forms” and “very female bodies”, both Bev and Tasha have these words attached to her, and in some cases, underlined)
- Tasha is BFFs with Wesley
- Beverly has the walk of a “striptease queen” and it’s that which allows Wesley to hang out on the bridge
- No Vulcans or Klingons or Romulans allowed on the show, we’re gonna use only NEW aliens
- No Worf character (see above, he was a last-minute addition intended to visually underline how much had changed since TOS. A Klingon on the bridge!)
- The Bible says it takes place in the early 24th century, but later on calls it a 25-century crew, which is interesting and shows a shifting idea of when the show would take place
- Replicators are called “ubiquitous wall-slots”, see the section titled, no fooling, “FOOD AND DRINK COMES FROM THE UBIQUITOUS WALL-SLOTS”
- It’s awesome that they describe the tricorder as “walkman sized”
- The Enterprise computer keeps track of where you usually head to at different times, so generally it’s possible to walk into a turbolift and it’ll deliver you to your usual destination without you having to say anything (neat, but we never saw it)
- The hand-held phaser rifle (a step up from the regular phaser) packs enough power to “kick Los Angeles into the ocean”
- The Enterprise phasers can BLOW UP A MOON, no big deal
