My encounter with this exquisite song comes rather late, but it would be a great disservice not to share such a beautiful aria just the same. Joy Oladokun is a soul musician from Los Angeles, and her voice is immaculate, a pure and divine beacon of light on Poison. Grace abounds on this haunting heartrender. Poison cuts to the bone with its emotionally charged, honest and candid approach. The heartbroken song comes from Joy Oladokun’s debut album Carry, which I’m more than convinced I need to spend a cozy night at home listening to, perhaps with a solitary candle lit and some tissues ready at hand. Carry can be found on iTunes.
