That trope of the, like, All-Purpose Scientist™ can be annoying but also sometimes it’s very fun if it’s in character that they would just. Study everything. Like sometimes it’s suspendably believable. Sometimes a character is like “I’m A Scientist™” and ur like “ok cool what’s your field” and they’re like “Yes” and I can just accept this because they’re Like That

If you have an All-Purpose Scientist™ character you need to have a scene where they count their phds on their fingers

Highlight the absurdity of this person knowing Fucken Everything it’s funny let Dr Science be funny have other academics look at them like “what the fuck? What the fuck?”

im sorry the what

this bad boy, for when you’re too lazy to walk up two flights of stairs to the shared lab space with the preparatory centrifuge but not too lazy to put some elbow grease into spinning your shit down

Method: Samples were centrifuged at whatever rotations per minute (RPM) Joey “the beast” McRipped could achieve on his saucy days. We’re not sure how fast, but it was impressive. Supernatant decanted off and….

I’ve been following you for YEARS now and I was wondering you you had any advice for doing well at college! So someone who’s actually gone through it! I’m in my first year and I don’t think I’m doing it right! You seem like the cool teacher I could actually talk to

aaaa thank you for your message, friend! i graduated college almost 4 years ago now (god im getting old) but honestly, theres not a right or a wrong way to do it in my opinion. i came into college super certain of what my major was gonna be and what my plan was and honestly that fell apart my senior year and now im going back to school 4 years later. there really isnt a right or a wrong way tbh just YOUR way, the way that fits right and works best with who you are as a person. my best advice for college is don’t feel pressure to do it a certain way, this is the time to experiment, to try things out and see what feels right and what doesnt. the best part is that whatever happens one day, you can get up the next day and try it all over again. I worked 3 jobs in college and did minimal partying some years, did a lot more other years. I dated a lot, I made a lot of mistakes, I made a lot of friends and I’m still in contact with some of them, some of them I haven’t spoke to in a few years. I think the best advice I could give is that this is the time to just go for it. I’m really glad I did a lot of the things I did during my college years. Even the bad decisions I made, the hard times I went through, I’m glad I experienced them, I rather know what happened because I did something rather than wonder “what if”, if that makes sense? Feel free to message me off anon if you ever wanna chat, my dms are always open : )
