#MiraculousMae
Dear Miraculous Fandom,
It is with heavy hearts that we come to you with some tragic news about one of our own fandom members, the wonderful, kind, talented @maerynn-blog.
Sadly, last week, we received word that Maerynn was involved in a car accident and tragically passed away.
Mae enriched the Miraculous fandom as an amazing writer. Her works included “A Beautiful Mistake”, “Both of You”, “Bring Me Home”, as well as various collabs such as “Under Lock and Key” with @edendaphne, “The Other You” with Totally Lucky ( @chocoluckchipz ), and “Broken” with @bbwoulfc.
Our hearts go out to her family during this terrible time. We ask you all to please be respectful. Questions pertaining to her unfinished stories and collaborations will be answered in due course, but now is not the time to be thinking of such things.
Instead, we ask you to remember her, join us in our grief and sorrow, but also celebrate the irreplaceable contributions she made to the fandom, and think fondly of the space she made in our hearts. For many of us, Mae wasn’t just a talented writer, she was also a true friend, someone who cried with us during bad times and laughed with us during good ones. She was always there, and the fandom doesn’t feel the same without her.
Below, feel free to offer your condolences or your favourite memories of Mae, or even quote your favourite part of her stories. We will do our best to pass on well wishes and love to her family.
We know many of you will be confused and devastated by this news, as we are. Out of respect, we will not be giving out any more information on her private life. Please be considerate, people cope with grief in various ways. For this reason, we know that there may be some who do not wish to see this post continually reblogged and ask that you use the tag #MiraculousMae
She will be forever loved and missed.
With love from,
Eden ( @edendaphne )
Midnight ( @midnightstarlightwrites )
Lucky ( @chocoluckchipz )
Ray ( @bbwoulfc )
Kry ( @kryallaorchid )
Liz ( @eizabet )
Mae was a phenomenal woman, and the most amazing friend anyone could ever have. She had so much love and kindness to give, always letting people know how much they meant to her, and willing to talk or just lend an ear. I’m so fortunate that I got to know her, not just through her writing or as part of the fandom, but as a close, personal friend.
Losing her has been so heartbreaking, and not a moment has gone by that I haven’t missed her deeply. I will always remember the supportive, affectionate, funny, creative, and amazing person she was. I hope she knows just how much she was greatly loved and appreciated.
Her beautiful and radiant spirit will continue to shine on forever.
She was truly, miraculous.

Drabble/Prompt #5
It’s up for grabs. (Like, seriously. I just wanna read/look at whatever you come up with. PLEASE. Please.) :B
Plagg. Little entity of destruction. Paired with a heart of gold. Maybe Tikki could have inspired him more, given him more pep-talks. Why does Adrien NEED Plagg? Maybe it’s their own Yin and Yang. They complete each other the same way Chat Noir completes Ladybug. A force that can work together. Plagg keeps Adrien grounded. Gives him something to do, something to work for and…also a way to escape every day life. Because maybe some times too much “good luck” just plain stinks.
And sometimes…it just literally stinks.
I’m in Love With Someone Else
Summary: Chat Noir visits Marinette after a bad day, and it’s all downhill from there as they start growing closer! Eventually, Chat Noir feels like he needs to ask Ladybug something, and manages to accidentally reveal himself in the same breath.
August 5th is one of my best friend’s birthdays ! I wrote her a Marichat Fic to celebrate since I believe it may just be her favorite of the love square. The title is a reference to a Parachute song.

Tonight’s Dinner
Oneshot featuring Adrienette and a Snapchat gone wrong, based on something that happened with me and my friends xD
Rating: mild T
Word count:1097
It had started out perfectly innocent and amusing enough.
Marinette and Alya were discreetly taking pictures in their respective classes, sending the photos to each other on Snapchat. They were completely random; sometimes they were selfies accompanied with the caption of ‘save me’ or ‘I’m so bored’. Others were of the back of people’s heads, or the teachers’ desks, or even the teachers themselves, caught in an unintentionally humorous pose in mid-speech.
Neither had gotten caught, which Marinette figured since the steady influx of pictures from Alya kept right on coming.
She had to bite her lower lip to keep from laughing when she saw the newest picture. This time, it was of Chloe pulling off a particularly miserable look, with the caption, “when ur not able to suffocate Adrien for 5 seconds”.
Okay but:
Ladybug running her fingers through Chat’s hair just bc she likes the messy look, and then one day doing it to Adrien out of habit bc ‘oh there’s my cute boy with the blonde hair & pretty green eyes and wAIT WRONG BOY’
Chat flicking Ladybug’s pigtails when he passes by just to be annoying & cute & bc he likes her hair
Adrien scaring the bajesus out of Mari by doing it to her too & bc she messed with his hair first
Mari getting him back by running her fingers from the nape of his neck up during class, which surprisingly makes him yelp & turn to glare at her absolutely scandalized
Madame Bustier not caring for once because FINALLY those kids are getting somewhere (#otp)
Alya secretly taking snaps of these occassions without telling anybody
Mari wearing her hair in different styles to avoid the pigtail-flicking
Adrien suddenly floored because ‘Holy SHIT Mari looks beautiful with her hair framing her face like that, why didn’t anyone tell me’
Adrien’s soul exiting stage left when Ladybug shows up for patrol with her hair down too
Chat suddenly in a short ponytail
“It’s a CAT tail Ladybug, get it?”
Ladybug pulling out the hairtie bc just no, and then Mari showing up with the same hair tie on her wrist the next morning
Adrien fucking swooning, & Plagg telling him he’s jumping to conclusions bc he’s got a heart made of putty
Nino is ready to burst, “Adrien, bro, just ask her out already!”
“I can’t just ASK HER OUT, Nino!”
Alya is constantly screaming
The hair shenangians do not stop
Nathalie & his driver are beginning to wonder just what is happening in that school to make him look like he just rolled out of a blanket burrito
Do you think Ladybug ever gets so mad at Chat that she gives him an impromptu middle name just to show him how mad she is?
And everytime she does this the name is different and slightly more ridiculous. For example:
- Chat Oliver Noir
- Chat Alexander Noir
- Chat Beauregard Noir
- Chat Filomina Noir
- Chat Cornelius Noir
- Chat Rutherford Noir
HEADCANON ACCEPTED
Chat Perfection Noir
hawkdaddy did say Adrien’s middle name is “Perfection”
Omg then it turns into a reveal?!
Ladybug was pissed.
Chat hurt himself yet again to protect her. He almost died again. Ladybug even had to hold Chat for some time after letting the miraculous power heal him. She had to convince herself that her kitty was safe in her arms, that he no longer had the deep back injury which almost killed him. When Ladybug did let go though, she was angry and worried and sad and a little frustrated but she won’t be admitting that. She could protect herself. Her kitty wasn’t her partner just to sacrifice himself every time she was in danger. He was her equal and he was as important as she was, if not more. Chat always argued her, usually telling her she had to be safe to purify the akuma. But today he had a slip of tongue during their argument, probably because he was also frustrated from all the cuddling. They were both red faced from cuddling arguing the same topic nth time when he said it.
“You know you are the only one who can purify the akuma and reduce the damage! Even if I get hurt, your power heals it anyway-but if you get hurt I can’t do that!” he said exasperatedly and mumbled. “Besides I just can’t stand it!”
Ladybug heard him. “You can’t stand what?”
Silence.
“Chat, you can’t stand what?”
“I simply can’t just stand there or run around while something is attacking you! It’s not like I can help it. I can’t stand seeing you in danger!”
“Oh, but you think I can stand it? How do you think I feel when you fall down with blood gushing out of your wounds?” Ladybug shuddered with the memory, her voice rising “I can protect myself! You shouldn’t be the one to fight my fights. I’m not made out of glass, I am perfectly capable of dealing with those attacks.”
“I am flattered that you care about my well-being my Lady, and I know that you are capable of such thing, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop.” Chat turned around to leave.
“Chat Leonard Noir! You will not be hurting yourself again like this!”
Chat stopped on his tracks. Ladybug didn’t know where Leonard came from, but she thought she had the fill the space between Chat and Noir while shouting. Shouting only Chat Noir felt like it wasn’t enough, she shouted his name that way every time they were fighting an akuma. Besides, she liked the name Leonard, she used to name her male dolls Leonard when she was little.
Chat blinked for a second, trying to understand where Leonard came from. He wasn’t a Leonard guy, he wasn’t even a Leo. After a moment of hesitation he smirked as he turned around. “It’s Alexander actually.”
Ladybug froze. “What?”
“My middle name. It’s Alexander. If you really want to call me with my middle name, at least call me with the right one.” He looked at Ladybug’s incredulous expression. “Don’t worry about finding about my identity though, I never use that name. None of my friends know it and I doubt my father even remembers about it.”
Ladybug poised her expression to look neutral and not panic because Chat looked like a little down while saying the last part. But holy cookies Chat told her his name! “It’s actually a great name.” she puffed the breath she was holding. “Not sure if it fits you though. Your messy hair doesn’t exactly give me the Alexander vibe.”
“And you think Leonard is better?”
Ladybug shrugged with a small smile.
She then opened her mouth to say something about their argument but she was silenced by two miraculous beeps. She took out her yo-yo as she readied herself to swing home. “The discussion from before isn’t over, by the way. We’ll talk about that again.”
Chat smiled as he readied his baton. “I’m always glad to hear you talk, m’lady.”
Marinette was pissed.
She usually wasn’t the one to get in arguments in school, especially the ones about Paris’s superheroes, but she had her limits. And her limits included a certain alley cat’s importance.
“What the hell do you mean by that?” She snapped as she turned around to see who was bad mouthing about her kitty.
Adrien, not being used to brunette’s full sentences, yet alone being the direction to her snap, stood frozen at his place next to Nino with wide eyes. He had to clear his throat before speaking again. “I mean I don’t understand why Ladybug is saying Chat Noir is her equal as her partner while he obviously is not. Ladybug is the one to plan everything and figure out the way to get the akuma. Chat Noir destroys everything he touches. Ladybug is the one to fix everything. Ladybug would most certainly win in a fight against Chat Noir. Also, he’s always the one that gets possessed. She is always the one to heal him. It’s like he is trying to make Ladybug’s life harder.” He had a sad look in his eyes but Marinette was too riled up to even notice it. “Besides Ladybug would most certainly win in a fight against Chat Noir.”
Her crush be damned, no one talked about her kitty that way.
No. One.
“You listen here now. Chat Noir is Ladybug’s partner for a reason and I can’t believe you can be so stupid to not see it. They balance each other out. One is good luck, one is bad luck. They plan things together and combine their powers. Ladybug only makes a new plan herself when she uses miraculous ladybug, because it is about her power. You simply can’t expect Chat Noir to understand Ladybug’s power works, its her job; and even though it isn’t Chat’s job, he usually helps her to understand the meaning behind her power. Chat also never destroys things he can’t get back, and always talks with Ladybug to inform her about the destruction to let her fix it. Also, Ladybug would not win in a fight because they are partners they are not meant to fight. But even if they did have an one on one fight with Chat Noir, she would actually lose because he is an incredible fighter and his baton is way more useful than a yoyo while fighting.”
“But Ladybug always wins when Chat is possessed!”
“That’s because she either uses the akuma’s powers to trick Chat, or that Chat is being controlled by someone else. In Puppeteer, for instance, Chat was controlled by a kid! And by the way, Chat always gets possessed because he puts himself in harms way to protect Ladybug in the first place!”
“Considering troubling Ladybug is the only thing he is good at, he at least protects her.”
Nino and Alya were watching the two with incredulous expressions on their faces. They never saw their friends so pent up about anything. Alya was even recording the whole ordeal to store it for later use.
“Adrien Leonard Agreste! You can not say that for the most loyal and big hearted person in the world!”
(What was with her and the name Leonard these days, honestly?!)
Adrien froze once again. His mind speeded up as he felt a strong feeling of deja vu with angry bluebell eyes staring at her as she called him Leonard. He dared to say the same sentence to the second blunette with bluebell eyes that week, forcing with a smirk over his shocked feeling.
“It’s Alexander actually.”
Marinette’s eyes widened as her angry expression changed to confusion, then realization and lasted with a shocked one. “W-what?”
“My middle name. It’s Alexander.” he said, as Ladybug and Marinette started to become one in his eyes. “If you really want to call me with my middle name, at least call me with the right one.”
(I found her I found her I found her I found her I f o u n d h e r)
Marinette’s hands were shaking, but she kept her voice strong even though she was panicking in her head. “It’s actually a great name. Not sure if it fits you though. Your hair doesn’t exactly give me the Alexander vibe.”
(I found him I found him I found him I found him I f o u n d h i m)
“And you think Leonard is better?” Adrien asked, his eyes shining with delight.
Marinette shrugged and added with a small smirk herself. “I do, actually. I think it enlightens your name like no other.”
ALAKSJDNDBSKAKSKSJDS IT MUST BE MY BIRTHDAY CAUSE THIS HAS EVERYTHING I LOVE IN A REVEAL FIC!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Note that this is just part one, click here for part two!
This has been such a labor of love for me though, and I’m so excited to finally be able to post it. I love Caged by @their-destinys-writer so, soooooo much, it’s one of my favorite ML fics out there and this particular scene has always stood out to me, so I really wanted to do something for it.
For some backstory if you haven’t read it (and you seriously should!!!), Marinette starts to get a lil famous, being known as the girl who saved Chat Noir, and on top of friendship/romantic shenanigans are hilarious yet stressful paparazzi that continue to hound Marinette and Chat where ever they go. It gets to the point where Marinette suggests that they don’t hang out any more to be on the safe side, thus the above comic I absolutely needed to draw. It was such a sweet, dramatic scene, and I love it to death, seriously.
@their-destinys-writer I’m so glad you liked it when I sent you this earlier. Consider this a very belated gift art that miraculously became a christmas gift. Time just worked out that way lol. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and as always that things improve for your home.
Title: Multiverse Dream Summary: They would fall in love in every universe, because their fate can’t control a love that breaks the barriers of space and time. (written for my friend Hannah, also prepare for minor angst and major fluff)
She lay on the rooftop, staring at the stars. Across her face was a painted smile, and she didn’t have to look at her partner to know his had an identical one. It was a quiet night in Paris, the little city noises dulled by the cool night air.
“The stars look impressively beautiful, considering you can usually barely see them,” she murmured, not having intended to say it out loud.
“I agree,” Chat whispered. “The universe is stretched out across the sky, as if you could reach for it and touch it.” She noticed his hand reaching up towards the stars, as if brushing them with his fingertips.
“It’s endless,” she agreed.
“Do you believe in the multiverse theory? That there are parallel universes, each a little different from our own?”
Ladybug couldn’t come up with a response, humming lightly to figure out her own thoughts. “Maybe,” she finally managed. Unable to voice her opinion, she forced out a joke. “Doesn’t that mean there’s a universe where you don’t love me, kitty?”
She heard him shift his head, and turned towards him. His green eyes shone like a true cat, and she shivered though it wasn’t very cold. “I don’t think that’s possible.”
She chuckled nervously, feeling heat creep into her cheeks. “Oh, come on Chat. I’m sure it’s-”
His eyes didn’t waver. “I think we’re meant to be, princess. No matter what universe, what time, what problem, I’ll always find you. And I’ll always love you.”
Her heart fluttered. She definitely had not expected that. “I love you too, Adrien.” She shifted closer to him, turning back towards the sky. She let herself get lost in the blanket of twinkling diamonds and galaxies.
“Well princess, it seems your knight must go fight a great battle.”
Her heart flooded with worry. “Adrien, you can’t go out there. We need to get out of here.”
His eyes grew determined. “And let there be a chance of you not getting out? Never. Marinette, I’ll protect you with my life.”
Burning tears filed her eyes, and the pressure behind her nose hurt her head. “I can’t let you do that, Adrien.”
She reached for the sword on the table behind her. With a swing of her arm, knocked him out with the hilt of her father’s sword. As he crumpled to the floor, she could see the betrayed look in his eyes.
“I love you, my knight.” she whispered, forcing her tears to subside. She quickly tightened the ties of her blouse and trousers, the fabric battle-torn and bloody from their fights, side by side.
But no matter how long they had stood by each other, how much she loved him, how much it hurt to know she may never see him again, this was a battle she would have to fight. And hoping luck was on her side, she would ensure he lived through the war’s final battle.
She dashed outside, joining the ranks of people marching towards the field. She fixed her mask so they wouldn’t recognize her. The princess really didn’t have much business fighting beside her people, after all.
She was more powerful than her enemies would ever know. Sword strapped to her side, fingers itching for combat, she noticed the enemy’s army approaching steadily.
With a loud war cry and a flurry of arrows, the two sides stormed at each other. Marinette knew the people beside her were falling and fighting, killing and being killed. She pressed forward, blade aimed for the men in front of her.
She ducked and dodged, killing only when she had to. She was aiming for the general’s throat, not his people’s.
She noticed a skilled fighter approaching her, killing her comrades as they approached. Marinette took note of the figure’s foxlike mask, and Marinette held her sword defensively.
The figure came closer, swinging their sword. Then in a flurry of clashes, they were fighting, clawing at each other with the steel of their blades. Marinette grunted as she swung towards the figure’s torso.
The figure paused. “You’re a woman,” came a feminine voice.
“You are too,” Marinette replied in shock. The figure was not shocked. She swung and cut Marinette’s arm, who in turned cried in pain. She held the injured arm, retreating enough to prepare to fight again.
“Marinette!”
Her eyes widened. No, he can’t be here. “Adrien!” she screamed, turning away from the figure.
Then she saw him fighting off two, three, four men. He ran towards her, sword aimed for the figure behind her. The figure chuckled, then swung her sword towards him. The two fought as Marinette watched helplessly, begging for Adrien to get out of the battlefield. Her injured arm throbbed in protest.
Adrien seemed to be getting the upper hand, parrying and striking. He swung towards the figure’s arm, but the figure was faster.
Marinette screamed.
The figure laughed as Adrien fell. Marinette’s fury rose into her eyes as she screeched and stabbed the figure through the stomach. She collapsed onto her knees beside Adrien. Marinette’s tears finally spilled over as she knelt over her love’s lifeless body.
She screamed and sobbed as the battle raged around her.
There was a knock at her window. Marinette’s eyes lit up. She scurried towards the windowsill, stumbling over her dolls and figures. She opened the window, shaking her head.
“Adrien Agreste, if you keep doing this, you’ll fall and get hurt.” Marinette scolded.
“Aw, don’t be like that! I already have a mother,” he responded cheekily, hopping in and brushing off his clothes. “I got the new comics! Let’s read ‘em!”
She gasped in delight, pulling him towards her soft rug. They lay down beside each other, opening the little comics full of action and adventure.
“Is that Adrien’s voice I hear?”
“Yes Mama!” Marinette called back down.
“I’m bringing cookies!”
The two nine-year olds looked at each other with glee. At age nine, they spent their days scarfing down sweets until they were sick, reading together in Marinette’s room.
At age twelve, Adrien’s mother passed away and his father forbade him from leaving the house. Their new house, that is. Pretty far from Marinette’s house.
He stopped sneaking in through her window.
At age fifteen, he started coming to public school again. The years that passed had given him the chance to grow much, much taller, and much, much more handsome. Marinette couldn’t help but admire him, though she had no idea how to talk to her old childhood friend anymore.
He still smiled at her with his smile full of kindness, his eyes full of mischief.
She hoped they would be friends again someday.
Her heart, however, tinged whenever he talked to Chloe, who he apparently had been friends with all this time.
At age seventeen, they had become closer again. Marinette didn’t talk to him much outside of seeing him with Alya and Nino, their other friends, but it was a start. She could appreciate a start.
She noticed him wherever she went, secretly longing for more. More time together, more conversations between just the two of them, more than just friends.
But she knew he didn’t like her back.
Age eighteen, they had finally graduated high school. Both received passing marks on their final tests, both were going to universities in Paris.
Adrien had broken up with Chloe months before, realizing Chloe had actually been taunting Marinette for a while. Marinette felt slightly guilty for being the cause of their break-up, but in honesty, felt more guilty about the delight she felt knowing they were no longer dating.
It was a quiet night, and they sat on Marinette’s rooftop together. Alya and Nino had already left their “hot chocolate and cookies party”, but Adrien didn’t want to go home yet.
Marinette wondered why.
“I miss this, you know.” he said suddenly, shifting closer towards her. “I missed seeing you every day.”
“I missed it too,” she replied, giving him a gentle smile. Her heart tugged when he smiled back.
“I’m glad,” he murmured. The sat in silence, though a bit more awkward than it had been before.
Marinette looked up at the sky, and gasped when a shooting star flashed across her vision. “Did you see that?!” She turned to Adrien with wide eyes, only to have them widen further when she saw him looking at her.
“See what?” he asked quietly. His eyes didn’t waver.
“U-Uh,” Marinette stammered. “Star. Shooting. Yeah.” She blushed fiercely, hoping the darkness of the evening made it less obvious.
He was way too close, and she felt ridiculous about getting lost in his eyes. She almost saw a flash of what their friendship used to look like. She remembered being bold as a nine-year-old, confident and commanding. She took a hasty breath.
“Hey Adrien?” she asked, hushed.
“Yeah?”
“I like you. A lot. As more than friends. I have for a while.” Once she started rambling, she couldn’t find it in herself to stop. “A-And I know we haven’t been close for a while, so I totally get if you don’t feel the same way. Oh gosh, I’m rambling, aren’t-”
He leaned forward until he had caught her lips against his, his fingers weaving into her hair. She gasped again, her eyes fluttering shut when she kissed him back. He pulled away slightly, long enough for her to catch her breath.
“Can I take that as a yes?” she whispered, brain turning to mush.
“I like you a lot too,” he chuckled, before kissing her again.
And again.
And…well, you get the point.
“Ready to head home, my Lady? It’s getting late.”
Ladybug blinked, and the hazy stars in her eyes cleared. She sat up slowly, stretching and sighing. “Ready.”
He stood up and took her hand in his. They stood side by side, facing the skyline of Paris and the ocean of stars. An endless horizon where they would fall in love again and again.
And again.
And again.
And…well, you get the point.
I actully cried a bit as adrien getted hit from the sword
1. they say, seeing is believing.
“Could you pass me the icing please?”
Adrien bends down close, melding his personal space with hers, but Marinette leans into it and hands him the bag of icing sugar lying beside the gingerbread house she’s decorating. Another time, she would have blushed uncontrollably at the way her fingers brush his, and she would have thought of literally nothing else for the next few glorious days moments.
Instead, she has to do everything in her power to not drop her gaze to where the breast pocket of his jacket lies beneath his apron. She can see the slight bump in the fabric anyway, out of the corner of her eye.
She’s seen him. The kwami.
The black cat kwami.
December 21st - “Freezing”
Of all the things that Marinette had expected to happen today, holding a suddenly-crying Adrien Agreste was not one of them.
She’d seen him striding towards her out of the corner of her eye, and had turned and greeted him, thrilled to see him. Then she’d realized two things: one, he wasn’t wearing a coat or anything nearly warm enough for a cold day like today except his scarf, and two, holy-crap-he’d-just-crumpled-to-the-ground!
She’d rushed to him, worried, only to find him babbling about something, his breath coming in gasping heaves. One touch of his skin had bothered her even more; he was freezing! She’d hugged him and murmured a few encouraging phrases while trying to figure out why’d he’d be out here like this…
And then he’d broken down completely.
Marinette considered herself fairly rational, and had never bought into the stupid belief that boys shouldn’t cry or whatnot, but she was still just a teenage girl, and her crush was suddenly kneeling in the snow in front of her, sobbing.
OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, WHAT-DO-I-DO???
Okay, she told herself, just breathe. You want to help him. Well, first off—no coat. And gasping in all that freezing air like that—he’s going to catch hypothermia! NO, DON’T PANIC!! Get him out of here and someplace warm!
She wasn’t sure if he heard her call his name or give him instructions, but he limply allowed himself to be led back to the bakery. Her parents were both busy, (thank God, she wasn’t sure how to explain this,) so she led him up the stairs to her room where they wouldn’t be disturbed.
It wasn’t until after she’d sat him on her chaise and wrapped a blanket around him that she heard him speak.
“Do you hate me?” he asked, sounding miserable.
“What??” she exclaimed, totally shocked. “Of course not! Why would you think that??
“You think I’m stupid, then?”
“WHAT??” Okay, now she was floored. Where was this coming from?? Maybe he was just embarrassed? “No, of course not! Everybody cries now and then!!”
“You lied to me,” Adrien said, glaring up at her. Marinette froze as he held up the end of his scarf that she’d woven her signature into. “You let me believe this was from my father, but he didn’t recognize it at all.”
“Oh,” she said weakly, feeling the color drain from her face. “Well, I—you see… I didn’t want to spoil—you just looked so happy!—and I…. You’re right,” she said, finally, her shoulders sagging. “I should’ve told you. I was afraid it would just make you angry, and on your birthday too! And I know your father must be busy—”
“Don’t you dare defend him,” Adrien snarled. “He stole something of yours and presented it as his own—no, worse! He probably had Natalie do it so he wouldn’t get his own hands dirty! I—I….” He buried his face in his hands.
“I hate him.”
Marinette stood stock-still as that pronouncement was accompanied by more hot tears flowing through Adrien’s fingers.
“I hate him, but I love him cause he’s my father, but he’s a jerk, and I know I shouldn’t call him that ‘cause it’s rude but it’s true, and I just wish—I wish… I DON’T EVEN KNOW!” he yelled, frustrated. He took a deep breath. “I thought, if nothing else, I could at least trust him, you know? He’s my father. But I… I can’t.”
“So, you don’t trust me anymore either?” Marinette asked softly. She didn’t want to make this all about her, she just wanted to help, but she wasn’t sure she could do that if Adrien saw her as part of the problem. Maybe she needed to leave? To her relief, Adrien looked up at her for a moment and shook his head.
“I came here because I thought I hated you. I thought I was angry at you, but I’m not,” he admitted. He snorted. “At least you had good intentions.”
“Didn’t help much, though,” she muttered. She bit her lip. “I’m so sorry. Is there anything I can do for you?” she asked hopefully.
He let out another laugh. “You’ve already given me more than I deserve,” he said, indicating his scarf and the blanket around his shoulders.
“If you’re still sad, then it wasn’t enough,” Marinette said firmly. He thought for a moment.
“Could I…,” Adrien asked slowly, “could I have another hug? I just… I feel so cold inside… like I’m freezing… and that was the one thing that—oof!”
Marinette hugged him tightly, smiling when she felt him laugh and hug her back. It was a bit awkward; since she was standing and he was sitting down, so he was really just hugging her stomach, but it seemed to do the trick. When she felt him start to relax, however, she realized that he had no intention of letting her go, even if he was already warm again.
So, she pushed him away just enough to sit beside him, thinking he might want to lean his head against her shoulder or something, but he just pouted (he pouted at her!!) and pushed her down onto the chaise until she was laying down, where he buried his face back into her stomach.
She giggled, her face bright red, both at the intimacy of their position and the fact that—
“That tickles!” she protested, squirming as he nuzzled her.
“But you make such a comfy pillow,” he countered, laying his head back on her stomach contentedly. After a few moments, she felt him relax completely.
“Ugh,” she said, giving up and carding her fingers through his hair automatically. “You are such a lap cat.”
“Only if I’m your lap cat, my lady,” he answered sleepily. She rolled her eyes at Chat’s typical response—wait. She wasn’t with Chat.
They both froze.
…WaRC
*fist pumps* WOO!
