Personality test, is 80f/26c too hot for you?

bordering on too cold

I'm from Southern California and I was born in the even hotter place of Arizona. So I'm kind of a fucked up warmfreak. Or whatever.

Hmm what is your opinion on “but it’s a dry heat” because when I visited Phoenix I was expecting to go “oh shit it’s hot even if it’s dry” since everyone says it like it’s a joke but instead I was like “oh wow this is a very comfortable 110”

Avatar

Yeah 100%. Dry heat is totally different from humid heat. I could never live in the south.

Swamp dweller here. I experienced dry storm / very low "Virga" in Utah on a 90°F+ day and felt a noticable and rapid change in comfort as the rain evaporated before it even hit the ground. Humidity carries the heat underneath the shade and makes your sweat less effective. id take Utah summers over Virginia summers any day if it werent for the drought

can you imagine the discourse that would go on on dog tumblr

okay we need to talk about the term “small dog syndrome” and its roots in ableism and other forms of systematic puppression. rant under cut.

okay I’m gonna be real I can’t stand antimailmanblr lately. i know we all hate mailmen and there’s nothing wrong with that but I think dogxxing might be a little too fucking far.

op please try to stick to nongendered language like mailpeople! using “mailman” exclusively may undermine the point you’re trying to make!

for the love of dog PLEASE stop using the term “tr*pod dogs”!!! this is a derogatory term!!! you should be treating all disabled dogs with love and kindness, not demeaning them!!!!

🔁 tpunk-pup Follow

op I appreciate you trying to support us but there’s actually a very widespread movement to reclaim the term “tripod”. your pinned post says you’re an “able pawed ally”, so I’d recommend you checkout the tripodpunk/tpunk tags on the site to see some more varied stances within the community. a lot of three legged dogs actually prefer to be referred to this way!

hi dogblr! i’m hoping you all can give me some advice. my shih tzu recently had to go on a temporary wet food diet to recover from a surgery, and now she’s refusing to eat any dry food. what can I do to convince her to start eating dry food again? i can’t feed her wet food forever, and i was wondering if you can tell me any tips that make dry food more enticing! thank you!

You can't cut soft cheese in thin slices or wedges because it just gets squished, but you can with hard cheese, cause the protein holds it together. Casein point:

ceiling-mounted lights. theyre connected to their corresponding switches

That's 80 luminaries. Assuming you're using single bulb 60w LEDs you would have a draw of about 10 watts per bulb. That's 800 watts or 6.67 amperes total on a single lighting load. Sure a 15A circuit could safely facilitate this, but the chances of failure are higher switching that much current, not to mention the arc the switch would have to deal with. Personally I'd use a lighting contactor and break it up across 8 circuits, 10 lights per. You also want an adequate amount of emergency lighting should either the power go out or a circuit trip for safety. You also need atleast one receptacle being the walkway is longer than 10 feet.

Otherwise everything looks good. Just make sure there's a railing on the stairs

Avatar

hmm... is there really no way to do this with like a bunch of relays or something? or would the lighting contractor take care of that. i dont really know what's reasonable to expect...

That's the best part! The lighting contactor IS a relay, or rather many in a single device!

It allows a single input, in this picture its a photocell but could easily be a switch. It allows many different circuits to be controlled by a single input. They're common in places like grocery stores to avoid having switches everywhere. Just come in, flip the one switch, and have all the lights come on at once! It also allows the use of high voltage on lighting without dangerous high voltage switches.

oh! ok that makes sense

may I propose the following: amplify the vibe by having a more modular system of motion sensors that turn on 1-3 bulbs at a time over the source of motion kind of like in a large storage unit facility. bonus points if they make a satisfying ka-chunk noise when they turn on and off. That way you A) save electricity and B) get to walk in a conveniently lit hallway with a vast darkness both in front of you and behind you.

Bonus: If a one-night stand sneaks out at 2 AM it will sound hilarious
