Hi! I'm just a 17 year old girl who's doing her A-Levels and needs a bit of me time. Figured out that Tumblr is the answer :) I'm in a lot of Fandoms including Disney, OUAT, Harry Potter and Friends.

When I went to vote this morning Hillary Clinton’s name appeared more than once on the ballot. Each time she was listed under a different party or issue - one box was titled ‘women’s rights’, another ‘Democratic Party’.

However, the instructions on the ballot clearly indicated you should only pick ONE box. I found this very confusing, so I’m asking you to spread the word:

if your candidate appears more than once on a ballot, only pick them ONCE. ANY of the boxes with their name on it will count.

IF YOU PICK MORE THAN ONE YOU WILL INVALIDATE YOUR VOTE.

 Thank you!

[Nyle DiMarco signing] You can keep this ad muted if you want and keep scrolling past it. But if you’re still listening to my voice, please know that there are a lot of people out there without one. Among the 50 million Americans living with a disability, many don’t have the ability to work, to travel, or to do countless other things you might take for granted. So this November, please consider voting for the only candidate with a plan to change that.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is the  only candidate running for any public office (from local school boards, to city and town mayors, to state legislatures, the House of Representatives, Senate. or President) to use the word “Disabled” without flinching, or hedging, or euphemism.

And, my honey children, the words of politicians have washed over my ears since the days of Lindon Johnson; they’ve actually meant something to me since Jimmy Carter was running for President.

And Hillary Clinton is the first to #SayTheWord: “Disabled”

…and speak of us as people who matter, whose lives have value.

Think about that.

We know Donald Trump’s attitude toward the Disabled, thanks to the way he publicly mocked New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, last year, and how he seems to confuse the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act –a federal law) with the M.D.A . (Muscular Dystrophy Association – a charity famous for its pity porn telethons). Source.

But did you know that Jill Stein, who many Left-leaning “Bernie or Bust” voters are choosing as their ‘protest vote,’ is actively courting the Anti-Vaxxer crowd, and talking about “The Autism Epidemic” in her speeches and tweets? Source.

Hillary Clinton isn’t “The lesser of two evils.” From a Disability Rights perspective, she’s “The best of the bunch.”

Context to the story:

The girl cut her hair once so that she could have bangs. The mother disapproved and decided to cut off 15" of her hair as punishment. The girl later again decided to change her hair style and the above was the result; she shaved her daughters head.

Having a few personal experiences with this kind of invasive behaviour it really hurts to see someone go through these kinds of things, where the parent tries to live vicariously through their childs life, to attempt to shape them and make their decisions for them depending on what THEY would do and give their child NO independence or self expression.

Thankfully, this mother thought her actions were 100% justifiable and posted it to Facebook as a bit of a “haha, teach my kid a lesson” and has been hit with brutal recrimination from her community and has had visits from Child Protective Services.

For so many young (and older) girls their hair is their self expression, and in several months I hope this girl will have hers back.

Children are not their parent’s possessions.

Children are NOT their parents’ possessions.

CHILDREN ARE NOT THEIR PARENTS’ POSSESSIONS!!!

Please be wary of Pokestops in isolated areas that have a Lure in them!

Criminals have figured out quickly that young adults swarm to these areas, and a handful of people have already gotten mugged (some at gunpoint). Unfortunately, some Pokestops are in dark or barren areas.

- Always be aware of your surroundings! (You won’t just get eaten by Gyarados)

- Don’t go to places not brightly lit, especially if there aren’t other people around! Staying in your car won’t always help.

- The best places for Pokestops tend to be places with high foot traffic anyway, like plazas, malls, colleges, and popular parks. Stick to those if you can!
