my dad likes to call the stretches of time where you’re not creating “dreaming periods” and says that they’re meant to allow you to absorb all of the beauty, life, and inspiration from the things around you so that when you’re able to create again, you will have fanned your spark back into a flame. sometimes its hard to see those moments as anything but stagnation, but he always says that they’re natural and healthy and needed—things that should be embraced rather than feared.

From what I recall, the first time I saw 'rainbow capitalism' from a big brand was this image from Oreo in 2012.

It created a lot of controversy. Calls for boycotts and such. But Oreo didn't take it down. They were unapologetic and didn't try to appease the homophobes or backtrack.

And I know this sounds weird, but it was like a shift. Proof that public opinion or acceptance of queerness was widespread enough for a company to consider it profitable.

Kris uploaded her super adorable drawings of the powerup wands from Bukatsudo Energetic and it made me want to upload my rough original designs for the Cure Rods in Witchcraft Precure, eheh. Done in Paint!

They’re both the weapons and the transformation items. They’re usually retracted and look more like the Miracle Lights but when the girls transform, they extend to look like wands!

My 3.5 year old daughter wanted to be a princess for Halloween.  OK! I said, then promptly lost my sanity and proceeded with making her an entire, (mostly) historically accurate 18th century Robe a la Francaise, using nothing but thrifted bed sheets for the fabric. If you’re interested in the nitty gritty details - I’ve made a blog post detailing the construction process

fucking sweet

eeeee!
