Abomination, kicking the door open with Amity on its back: I THINK THE FUCK NOT! WHAT THE F-

(The Blight siblings are in the cafeteria eating lunch together, Amity notices Emira staring lovingly at Viney who is at a nearby table)

Amity: Really? That’s what does it for you?

Edric: You’re not exactly in a position to judge Mittens.

Emira: (dreamily) What I wouldn’t give to be in her arms right now.

(Emira takes a bite of her sandwich. Amity gives Emira a hard smack on the back, causing her to start choking)

Amity: HEY! DUAL TRACK GIRL! MY SISTER’S CHOKING ON HER SANDWICH!

(Viney rushes in, scoops up Emira and performs the Heimlich maneuver)

Viney: You okay?

(Emira takes a few deep breaths but then starts to blush and hyperventilate when she realizes she’s in the arms of her crush)

Viney: Easy now, deep breaths.

(Viney rubs Emira’s back in attempts to calm her down. Edric is staring on wide-eyed while Amity has returned to eating her lunch)

Edric: Mittens, that was both brilliant and terrifying.

Amity: Always happy to help my siblings. Did you want help with your crush too?

Edric: (pauses)…I’m good thanks.

Inspired by @theyreaprinx. They weren’t the first I had heard of the Emira/Viney pairing but it was the place I first saw the idea of Emira loving how buff Viney is.

Emira: okay, you’re driving down the road when you see Edric and Luz. What do you hit, the-

Amity: oh, definitely Edric. I could never hurt Luz

Emira: THE BRAKES! YOU HIT THE BREAKS!

Edric: WHY WOULD YOU HIT ME?!

Amity: I COULD NEVER HURT LUZ!

Ok going down a whole new hole here guys. So I’ve seen pretty much all of the released episodes of The Owl House and the subtle not subtle teenage romance between Amity Blight and Luz Noceda.

But what I want to talk about is the episode Echanting Grom Fright better known as Luz x Amity dance.

When I first watched this scene all I thought was how cute it was and how well they danced together.

However after roughly a second time watching the episode I started thinking that their flow of dance is so flawless that they must have practiced at least some dance moves before Grom. But Luz as far as we know doesn’t really know how to dance because she got kicked out of her Prom for wearing an otter onsie. As for Amity being in a wealthy and prestigious household she was probably taught dance at some point though not as forced on her as learning abomination magic.

I started paying attention to how the two both switch roles through out the dance from leading to following. At first it’s Luz who leads I think as she is the one who twirls amity around as she makes the magic circle to summon the abomination.

Then it switches to Amity leading the dance and Luz following her lead to empower the abomination with a plant rune/glyph. Then the dance finishes off with the two girls neither leading or following they are equal. Albeit with Luz giving amity a few spins in her arms but I think that’s more momentum after catching someone from the air.

For two people to dance so effortlessly with what we presume no practice and no verbal cues is that it takes absolute trust and working chemistry. Even most accomplished dancers need a few years to fully trust their partner to not let them fall. But what I love most is that Luz and Amity both had leading parts in the dance which means they see each other as equals and that neither is superior to the other. We know Luz wears her heart on her sleeve and even though the misunderstandings she had with Amity, she trusts her. The same goes for Amity although she is more closed off than her counterpart.

This whole dance scene shows that these two have a chemistry. Whether you think it’s platonic or romantic is up to you. Regardless these two were meant to be together. They just work!

I could have gone more in-depth with this but I didn’t want the post to be too long. But please add your take on the dance scene and what conclusions you got from it.
