“I love that [party] scene because you get to realize Jim has had a crush on Bill Haydon for his whole life, but it’s observed with subtlety. There’s no great scene in which I say that or which it’s revealed; it’s just done with a look. Earlier on in the film, you see photos of them just having played a game of rugby and they look very happy. Little subtle clues such as that I really enjoyed about this film.” - Mark Strong

“Everybody has something that chews them up and, for me, that thing was always loneliness. The cinema has the power to make you not feel lonely, even when you are.”
- Tom Hanks

i am going to say it again… while i don’t intend to detract from both Redmayne’s and Keaton’s marvelous and bravura performances, i think BC’s incarnation of Turing is going under the radar because it is such an internal, nuanced creation. like Gary Oldman in TTSS; i think that the technical and emotional range that BC brings together in TIG is so deftly done it is almost easy to miss just how brilliant it is…. *sigh*.

all the awards for BC please; just all the awards for this extraordinary man.
