ISA - Heigilah “Lah” al’Haven
// Basic Information //
As a teenager, Lah left home for a revolution that didn’t exist. Now, she struggles for purpose and to determine what her convictions are worth.
Full Name: Heigilah al’Haven
Age, Height, Weight: 24, 5′2, 115 lbs.
General Physical Description: Dark, loosely curly hair typically held back by a braid pulled over one shoulder. Pale skin with warm undertones, green eyes.
Distinguishing marks: Stick-and-poke tattoos between her fingers, so green and blurred that it’s impossible to distinguish what they were supposed to be. She tries to cover them with plain but bulky silver rings.
Orientation & Relationship: Straight, in an undefined but deeply committed thing with Kaiden Blackwell (@kaidenblackwell).
Known Affiliations: Employee of Steelgrove Syndicate, sometimes found working or drinking at The Brig.
Family Ties: She’s been out of contact with her parents for years. Lah has no biological siblings, but she thinks of her childhood friend Khalid as a brother.
// In-Depth Knowledge //
Personality Strengths: Empathetic, observant, principled, loyal
Personality Weaknesses: Stubborn, impulsive, overzealous/idealist
Personality Synopsis: Lah is a revolutionary at heart, driven both by her beliefs and her loyalty to those she considers “her people.” While time and experience have taught her to carefully cultivate a neutral exterior, it’s a constant battle, sometimes unsuccessful, between the inherent strength of her feelings and learned caution.
Education: While she was tutored in academics and etiquette as a child, Lah hasn’t received any formal education since leaving home at fourteen.
Upbringing: As a girl in Kul’Tiras, her merchant father had high hopes for her upward social mobility, and her soldier mother just wanted to raise her on the straight and narrow. She likes to say she found a way to disappoint both. After Lah and her father followed her mother to Theramore, her mother’s promotion and her father’s grief over losing his business left her with ample unsupervised time. She found a group of Tirasian kids to run around with—the same group that would eventually latch on to big ideas about revolution, and run away to Westfall to find it.
Primary Motivators: Conviction and community.
Emotional Disposition: Cautiously warm, impassioned, conscientious.
Interesting Facts: The grumpier and more disinterested an animal, the more she loves it (from a safe distance).
// RP Interests & Hooks //
Camaraderie: Lah loves meeting others with a revolutionary bent, whether it’s to discuss philosophies or swap stories. Conversely, she’s deeply suspicious of anyone with a stake in maintaining hierarchies, particularly nobles and wealthy merchants.
Westfall: For roughly five years, Lah lived in Westfall camped out with a small pack of Tirasian kids with big (and unsuccessful) ideas for changing the world. Their smaller efforts, aiding the poorest Westfall communities via legitimate and not-so legitimate means, were at least temporarily helpful. She traveled the province extensively and met a number of people in her time there. If you have a character based in or who spent time in Westfall, they could very easily have been acquainted!
Friends from the Motherland: Kul’Tiras is her birthplace and in her blood. She gets excited to meet her countrymen, and especially to speak Tirasian. (It’s a personal headcanon that Tirasian is basically Azeroth’s Dutch, spoken by natives but in addition to Common rather than instead of it. It is, after all, a trading nation, and who’s going to bother learning Tirasian?) She loves hearing tales about the homeland, but also loves any stories from sailors and seafarers, Tirasian or not.
Con for Hire: With a versatile face, a subtle hand, a keen eye, and a talent for lying, Lah’s strength is liberating information and valuables from targets. Fighting, however, is not in her wheelhouse, and she’s well aware that the only way she’s winning one is with the element of surprise and a stroke of luck.
OOC Notes: I’m open to pre-established relationships or new ones, friendships, business partnerships, family connections, pretty much anything aside from romance. I really like the idea of getting some adversarial relationships going!
