The Paraguaian Hairy Dwarf Porcupine, is a South American porcupine species from the family Erethizontidae. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Born with soft fur that turns into hard spines with age, They have a short tail and gray brown quills.

These porcupines live in trees eating fruits and vegetables and dig into ant nests for dessert.
