The 365k/365 Day Challenge

The new tag for this event is: 365k365day

The 365k/365 Day Challenge is a year long writing event. The challenge is, as I’m sure you can figure out, to write 365,000 words, or 1,000 words a day, in 365 days (a year)!

  • Midnight your time zone January 1st- 11:59 your time December 31st

  • If 365k in a year is an unrealistic goal for you, create your own. The point of the challenge is to write every day. If, to accomplish that, you need to write 500 words a day or 100 words a day or even 10,000 words a day,  then do that.

Fourth annual year: 365k/365 Day Challenge word count tracker!

Another WC tracker and a word meter progress bar!

The challenge may seem daunting, but once you get into it, writing every day will become a habit- not a task.

  • If you want, you can even set your own goal. 365k/365 Day is all about writing more in a year than you normally would and writing every day, even if it isn’t the generic 1k a day.

What Counts and What Doesn’t

What Counts:

• Novels

• Short Stories

• Vignettes

• Fanfiction

• Novellas

• Poetry

• Songs

• Planning

• Journaling and etc.

• Rewrites/edits

• Any other form of personal creative writing.

What Doesn’t Count:

• Roleplaying (could be twisted to count as planning/character building, but if it’s a RP where you play a celebrity or someone who isn’t your character, or it’s just a RP for messing around with characters, it doesn’t count)

• School work

     - Basically any other form of non-personal writing.

The challenge’s goal is to expand your creative output and in turn make you a better creator. The more you create, the better you will become at creating. Writers write, so this year, let’s write.
