I was commissioned to create a set of three concept-driven illustrations to accompany an article about Singapore’s “cryptic” think tank. These illustrations appear in the latest issue of Brunswick Review.

The article is about the Singapore government, which employs a team of futurists. It is their job to use foresight to anticipate, envision and respond to crisis. They don’t seek to predict or eliminate uncertainty but develop an anticipatory capacity.

I am absolutely delighted to announce that two series of my work were accepted into the 2014 3x3 Illustration Professional Show.

‘Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry’ received Merit in the Self-Promotional category. My series for Brunswick Review also received Merit in the Editorial category.

The pieces will be featured in the 3x3 Illustration Annual No. 11 later this year. You can see the full list of winners here.

Happy New Year!

I hope you all enjoyed the break over Christmas? The film Mary Poppins is always on TV during the festive period, causing me to wonder how Mary would get around without her umbrella? I’m fairly sure she’d have to utilise the extensive London transport network until she could find a replacement.

All umbrellas purchased at stalls in London are magical, right?
