It was bright and sunny that day in Eastern Thanalan, not that Minfilia would know. She’d spent the entire morning at her desk completely immersed in her work. It took a moment before she noticed there were visitors. “Oh my… so many coming to the Waking Sands today.” She peered over the parchment in her hands, eyebrows raised, then set it down and stretched, ready for a break. “Is there something I can do for you?"
Calmer Waters

The sun was already high in the sky above the dock town hidden behind the mist when he opened his sapphire eyes, and it took him longer than he usual before his eyes got used to the sudden brightness.

This morning, nay, this day seemed much brighter than others before, and at first he could not put his clawed fingers onto the reason why. That is until he recognized that what surrounded him wasn’t the grey fabric of a simple tent but walls painted in clear white, reflecting the sunlight’s bright glory.

Just where was he? And what.. what had happened the night before…?

It was only then he noticed he wasn’t wearing his usual clothes. These garments were quite the part more constricting and clung tighter to his form… And also felt somewhat uncomfortable right now as he was lying on his back, his tail stuck between the soft bed and his body.

That was the suit he had worn to the ball.

He went to the ball last night. He went there to make new acquaintances, to gather some information perhaps and then…

He darted up into a sitting position on the bed when he recalled what happend at midnight - and the hours after it.

The murder of Lady Bianca.

The banishment of Edea Lee.

How he stood up to the quartier, to the people of Myrefall, how he…

- How did he get here?

Where was here?

And why was he confused when he realised that no shackle bound him…?

The Point Of No Return ☠

There it was – that WRETCHED temple road: there, in the distance. Echidna watched as the swarms of beasts called forth from the depths of darkness surged ahead of her, uncaring of their little race to the Water God’s sacred shrine.

The great serpent flinched and shook her head, pausing as though dazed, before the last fragile glimmer of humanity within her was drowned out by the noise.

She could feel it – she who summoned her, she who had aided her, and she who had damned her that miserable night…!

KILL THEM. The words – her own? her master’s? (ah, she had a master? yes ) – echoed throughout her mind. Screaming. Deafening. Endless. Suddenly she thrashed about suddenly and dove forward, parting the waves of monsters before her like a blade cutting through flesh with just as much blood and bone and ligament. KILL THEM ALL!

Her eyes latched onto a single form – in her rage, she couldn’t identify it – and as she neared, her venomous fangs and claws bared viciously,

DIE!

The Prisioner and the Quartier

Luckily, following the encounter with the Adamantoise and their fellow guardsmen, Logan and Kamiizumi manage to make their way quickly to where the Lady Lenne was at the moment. Of course she was busy - how could she have not been, given the circumstances? - but at least she seemed to be safe.

What a relief.

“Lady Quartier, m’lady.”

Despite the dire situation the Swordmaster bows down before the woman he had sworn to protect before he continues to speak.

“Forgive me for leaving my assigned post at the main gates of the temple… But I could not stand by idle when your innocent subjects are being slaughtered…”

Oh yes, we had almost forgotten: He did defy her direct order to stay and defend he Main Gates… - But his reason for doing so was quite noble, so hopefully she’d understand him. He just couldn’t turn a blind eye when the town that had taken him in so kindly was under attack, was in danger of being destroyed? No, there was no way he could do that. He… he just couldn’t…

“On my way here I ran into this woman… she appears to be a spellcaster… - and… m’lady… she… she publically threatened… to rip out your throat…”

Logan - who had tried to maintain posture as good as he could during this - stared at the swordmaster with wide open eyes. Just what kind of woman had he been carrying around here then? And why had she not been punished for this heresy yet?

“The mun of cosmos-warrior and zanarkandsongstress is someone I’m so lucky to call a friend. She’s so kind and caring and passionate, and she brings that same passion to her muses. Her Warrior of Light is the most unique WoL blog I’ve ever seen, really giving him a distinct personality beyond the amnesiac base we’re given, and her Lenne is so fleshed out you’d think she was Lenne herself. She gives life to these characters in an amazing way, and she’s an amazing friend to boot!”
