I feel like this is a review people of tumblr should watch. Especially with the recent cases of Toby Turner, James Deen, and Bill Cosby, this is something to keep in mind. Even Michael Jackson, who was proven innocent both times, people continued to say he was guilty of child molestation, until (and after) he died.

Just for the record...

I won’t be silenced and I won’t give up. I may not always discuss the topic of my abuse, but that doesn’t mean I’m withdrawing. When you know your court case can take years, you try to live as normal of a life as you can. But I won’t be a nameless victim. You know my name and my experience. I’m not hiding. I refuse to let him scare me into silence like he did all these years.

I also reserve the right to block who I see fit. I refuse to be bullied and attacked by people who don’t know what happened. Blocking you doesn’t mean I just proved your point. Blocking you means you are no longer fit to be a part of my social media experience. I may not know you, but I know you are cruel enough to harass and badger an abuse victim.

Not taking stances. Just observations.

I’m honestly so appalled at the behavior of some people. I guess I shouldn’t expect more from a website like Tumblr, but this is what I see after thinking people can be decent for a little bit.

One girl writes a long, emotional post about how she was raped by Toby Turner and immediately everyone turns against Toby.

Some animator writes a very, very biased letter about how horrible RoosterTeeth is for “crushing Monty’s dream” and almost everyone’s stance is “I’m never watching RWBY again, RT is trash”.

Does innocent before proven guilty even mean anything anymore? Or not taking sides? What if everything turned out to be completely false? Then what?
