Imagine if Magnus losing his grip on his powers at a young age accidentally caused several "natural" disasters and accidentally cause several cities to become "lost" cities
OK BUT LISTEN THIS IS A THING:
Magnus had never created an earthquake on purpose and preferred not to dwell on the unfortunate accidents in his youth.

“Did you have something to do with that earthquake?” “Ragnor,” Magnus reproached his friend. “You cannot blame me for every little natural disaster that happens!” (

I really really hate that on both occasions it was a throwaway line like this is so important what the hell. It’s not even implied; it’s made pretty explicit that Magnus was responsible for multiple natural disasters when he was younger because his powers went out of control. But we don’t get any details about this? You can’t tell me he caused that level of destruction and didn’t feel horribly guilty about it?????? I’m so mad this was never talked about in-depth at all.
I mean, Magnus has such a unique relationship with his powers because literally the first thing he ever did with them was kill the man he knew as his father. And he was a kid?? And then after that, he ends up destroying a bunch of cities by accident?? But somehow he still managed to accept what he is and learn to work with his magic, and he isn’t afraid that it’ll overtake him anymore. He doesn’t view himself as an awful danger to those around him? How much time and effort did it take before he got to this point, where he could really say, I’m not a monster even if other people think I am. Like I’m so emOTIONAL ABOUT THIS GODDAMN
