Add any other ones that you an think of that I might have forgottennnn

anonymous asked:

do you know any western cartoons that feature memorable e/se characters? all I can come up with are: Avatar/Korra, Samurai Jack, American Dragon Jake Long, Pucca, and so on

Hi! Tbh, this is a tough question, because I don’t really watch a lot of animation or animated shows… Aside from the examples you’ve listed, there’s that old Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan (from the same line-up as Scooby-Doo and The Archie Show). Keye Luke provided the voice for Mr. (Charlie) Chan.

Speaking of protagonists, all I can think of right now are Hiro Hamada and GoGo Tomago from the upcoming Big Hero 6: The Series (Premiering on Disney XD in Fall 2017) and Marinette Dupain-Cheng (superhero Ladybug) from French animated show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (second and third seasons are in progress).

Then there are Jubilee from X-Men: The Animated Series and Katana from DC Super Hero Girls, Hay Lin from W.I.T.C.H. and Yumi Ishiyama from Code Lyoko. Neither of these is the main protagonist, but they’re all are in the core cast of their respective shows, as far as I’m concerned.

If anyone knows more to this list, feel free to add or drop a message!

Special thanks to @neopuff for submission:

Also, We Bare Bears!! Created by an actual Asian (Korean) American animator. The anti-bear sentiment itself is meant to mirror anti-Asian sentiment, but it also stars Chloe Park, a Korean American child prodigy, who’s the most important character after the bears.

I’ve seen users here on tumblr shit on bronies for enjoying or not enjoying episodes of MLP, saying that they’re not allowed to do or discuss things about it since they’re not the target audience.

Those same users then turn right around and berate Disney films for not portraying the original tales in the way some of them were originally written (dark, edgy, depressing), as well as arguing that they’re “white washing” all their characters… stuff that would normally NOT be a discussion point in films made for general audiences and marketed to kids.

You cannot berate one group for enjoying something outside of their demographic and then turn right around and type a serious ten paragraph essay about something outside of your own demographic that you personally watch.

That’s called hypocrisy.

Of course, why have time for thinking things through when you gotta fly into a blind rage? “Shh, no logic, only feels now.” ~tumblr

It’s about time that we all learn that entertainment like this isn’t a finite resource.

As long as people aren’t specifically being jackasses to YOU with what they enjoy, don’t go and be a jackass to them… especially on your public tumblr blog where everyone (including the people you just talked shit about) can see it. It just tends to make you look bad to everyone else outside of your relatively small circle of friends and followers.

Oh, and if you’re going to go, “We don’t care if bronies like the show or not! We can’t stand them making smut, dirty art or disgusting things of it!!”

Okay. That’s fine that you don’t like that. I don’t like that kind of crap as well (oh yeah, in before I get accused of being a brony myself for this submission, because that’s always a good counter argument lol amirite).

Just ask yourself: Are you also upset over the smutty, dirty and disgusting fan art of Doctor Who, Benedict Cumberbatch, Team Fortress 2 characters, Disney princes, Young Justice, Yu-Gi-Oh, Danny Phantom, [enter some other cartoon that you enjoy here] and The Avengers?

If you answered “No” to any of those, please reread the fucking post.
