i’m laughing so hard i’m watching a video where a channel that specializes in analyzing WWI did a historical check on inaccuracies in the latest Battlefield 1 trailer and this person in the comments tried to act like the fact that you can play as a black person is the greatest historical inaccuracy of all, rather than the comically low-flying zeppelin being used on the frontlines or the biplanes being used like WWII fighter jets or the tanks mowing over rough no-mans-land at the speed of a lamborghini or the lack of trenches in villages or the fact that they made 1918 warfare represent all the war’s warfare. but no, a black person existing in WWI is obviously way more inaccurate than any of that

Nicole: *Aligns with Frank to try and keep in his good graces and keep herself safe*

BB18 Tag: Nicole is a rat she is a disgusting human being, she’s always been a flop and always will be. she can go.

Tiffany: *Aligns with Frank to try and keep in his good graces and keep herself safe*

BB18 Tag: Well you know even though Frank isn’t the greatest person Tiffany is doing what’s best for her and so i’m all for it.

Can you do number 22 with Soryu?

i think it’s safe to say that this is the last thing you had in mind with this prompt but i’m an awful human being so here’s some good old fashioned unrequited love

If you were to ask Soryu what his greatest regret is, it would be not personally buying her from the auction when he had the chance.

But at that point, she had been insignificant. He had other priorities, his mind was focused on other matters, and he was honestly relieved that she hadn’t picked him from the fray. He couldn’t be bothered by this strange woman with terrible misfortune, despite the way her eyes shined from beneath her long lashes and her petite hands clenched with nerves.

So he didn’t make a big deal when Eisuke, eternally reckless in the most dangerous of ways, quite literally stole her away from the other auction managers. Whether it was his disdain for women, or his curiosity to see what his friend would do with her, he wasn’t sure. But as he watched the guarded man slowly let his walls crumble around her, he was happy. Eisuke needed someone to love - before he forgot what that was.

And then, nearly a year later, she’s being hunted by someone that wants to see the elusive business mongrel burn.

Soryu can’t say he’s surprised. Eisuke has few he considers dear and far too many enemies. She was bound to get caught up in his tempest, especially when he considers her inherent lucklessness.

Eisuke, worried and doing everything in his power not to show it, asks Soryu to watch her. Not as a business partner, not as a hitman, but as a friend. And it’s so rare for him to need something, he just couldn’t find it in his heart to say no. It’s his ultimate show of faith, something that humbled Soryu enough to rearrange his hectic schedule.

He’s awkward, at first. He’s used to her hanging around, for obvious reasons, but he could count the amount of times they’ve truly spent alone together on one hand. And most of them consisted of him sitting silently in the lounge, staring at work, while she hurried to clean the penthouse.

This didn’t deter her, however. She’s always kind, always warm. She would go out of her way to draw him into conversation, saying that if they were going to be stuck with each other, they may as well be friends.

He starts watching her, more than what could be considered acceptable, given their circumstances. The way her laugh would never fail to brighten up a room, how her smile caused small dimples to indent her rosy cheeks. How she would tuck her hair behind her ear when she thought, or unconsciously bite at the end of her pen as she did last minute room checks. How she would readily assist those at the hotel, playing the perfect part of the helpful and trustworthy employee.

They were little things, really, but all of them endeared her to him. He can’t fault Eisuke for falling in love with her, when she’s unwittingly doing the very same to him.

It takes one long, torturous month to settle the issue. The man who had been targeting her got impatient, attacking when he thought her to be alone, shopping for groceries. The fight was easy for someone of his caliber, though she had managed to somehow twist her ankle, making movement impossible. He breaks his own rule of ‘no physical contact’, picking her up and carrying her on his back as they make their way to the hotel.

“So, I guess this means you won’t need to babysit me anymore,” she says, doing her best to make light of the situation. He can feel her hands shaking, and he knows she’s still afraid of her near-fatal encounter.

“Does being with me bother you?” he asks, quietly, almost afraid to hear her answer.

“Of course not, silly.”

He’s more relieved than he would ever dare admit.

They’re silent for a while, him enjoying the feeling her being so close. He knows it’s unlikely to happen again, and - sending a silent apology to Eisuke - reluctantly allows himself to bask in her warmth.

“I’m sorry,” he hears her whisper, and he knows that if she were any farther from him, he’d have missed it.

“I see the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice,” she says, voice thick, “and I’m sorry, Soryu.”

He hears all the things she doesn’t say, what she can’t say. I’m sorry it ended up like this. I’m sorry you had to go through this. I’m sorry I love Eisuke. I’m sorry I can’t love you, too.

After today they’ll go back to their original roles. She’s his best friend’s girlfriend, and he’s the mobster who feels awful for loving her.

“Yeah,” he mumbles, an overwhelming feeling of sadness washing through him as they near the hotel. “Me, too.”

So!  So I went to this Walk to Emmaus thing last weekend. It was… hard, at parts, but in a good way, and I came away from it feeling lighter than I have in literally months.  I really haven’t found the words to describe it to people who haven’t been to one, especially in a way that doesn’t sound weirdly full of woo.  But I’m really glad I went, and I wanted to share a small bit of it with you guys.

On the last day (Sunday), we were all given letters that had been written to us before the Walk started.  Letters from family, from friends, from people at our churches.  Letters of encouragement, of prayer, of what they wished for us to experience over the weekend.  Letters overflowing with love and support

I got letters from each of my parents, my grandparents, people from my church - and then, I opened a letter from Brian.  My sweet little brother Brian.  A letter that he dictated to my mom, who wrote it out longhand for him to reference, and then painstakingly typed up and carefully signed himself.

I think I’m going to frame it.

I woke up really early for work today and I was super tired when I came home. I laid down and just passed out. My boyfriend cooked dinner while I napped on the couch. Like, I already know he’s a good cook and whatnot but he even tried out a new recipe. It was so good and ugh. I was so touched and honestly he’s the real MVP and champion of my life and I love him.
